Salvador is an excellent waiter. Had a great time. Highly recommend. Perfect evening. Knew exactly what we should order for our large party size.

Yesterday we went there for dinner and my partner and I had a great time. The food was lovely and I have to say we live in Maceira and it was the first time the service was fantastic. A young man looked after our table. He was happy, friendly. Well done to O Casarao, to employ new people with new attitudes after our dinner we definitely will go back because that is the way should be all employees should be like him. Happy to work in a place. Muito obrigado

Very very bad experience. This is definitely not the same Casarão as before… I went there many times (25-20 years ago). The food is not as good as it was. The « starters » give you the first bad feeling: they come with ham (like serrano, but local) of very poor quality on a plate under plastic and coming from the fridge…so the ham has a plastic taste. The overall presentation is not nice. We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was less than 50% booked… And be careful because they rent another space for wedding parties just next to the restaurant so it is very noisy! There is only on “positive” side (?), it’s not expensive (200€ for 5 with 2 bottles of wine). I guess they try to survive with low prices, but I would have preferred a much better experience and accepted to pay much more. I will never go back again. Sorry for them…

Excelent portuguese food and wine. The service was very friendly and attentive. There were several good options ror the deserts and the ones we took were very good. Great lunch to be repeated.

The setting is nice and friendly. We ordered skewers, which came after some waiting. However the food was disappointing The fish was overcooked and dry.

We booked on the fork and good thing, as otherwise we would have not noticed it. It was a fantastic experience, one of the best we had in Portugal. We got some appetisers as they were good looking and cheap. The main dishes, we had fish rice and pork with shrimps spit. The portions were monstrous and delicious, ingredients were fresh, juicy, we loved them. At the end we got figs and nuts on the house and the bill was very very decent. Great service!

We celebrated my wife' s birthday. The starters were delicious, the rest of the food and dessert were good. The waiters were very polite and useful.

This restaurant never lets me down. The quality of food is amazing. The fish rice dish and “acorda” dish are delicious. One of my favorite places!
