6/10The food was what we actually expected. Salty, unimaginative and over priced. The mashed sweet potatoes were terrible. It was like eating baby food. It would have been much better left in chunks / slices. The service was very good. For a Fado night, we would have expected better dressed entertainers / staff. The Fado was also not very good. Regardless, it was a family outing and that was good enough for us. Oh, the Sangria was very good!

6/10I think you should have the option to choose between fish and meat . I like surprises but I they should have 2 options to choose from . For me the best was dessert . They should have music to better atmosphere. Our waiter explained everything perfect . I loved that the chef at the end of our meal came to our table . You don’t see that happen in many restaurants

We had a great time. I was a bit concerned because of the mixed reviews but our experience was great. We went on a Monday night for Fado, we were able to have a really nice meal and enjoy multiple Fado artists perform starting from 20:30. It’s a bit more expensive than most restaurants in Faro but in our opinion it was worth it. Service was pretty quick and the food was good.

4.5/10We visited O Castelo Restaurante Bar Terraza today for lunch and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Our table was dirty and only cleaned after we asked, and it took around 40 minutes before anyone came to take our order. Service throughout was extremely slow, and we also had to wait a long time just to receive the bill. While the food itself was average, the overall experience left much to be desired.

The restaurant had a great location and atmosphere. With good music and drinks for sunset. Service was ok but unfortunately the food was horrendous. We were actually shocked out how bad the food was for what was supposed to be a romantic sunset dinner. Just go for drinks only.

7/10I ordered tuna with onions, and I waited so long, maybe 1.5 hours, that I wanted to leave. And it wasn't even brought by the person who served me. The tuna was cold (only the potatoes were hot), extremely salty and not very tasty. But everything else was great - the atmosphere, the fast waiters, the fado, and the view.

5.5/10Great service, the food wasn’t that great as we expected, the Cod in cream sauce more like a fish cakes than a pice of fish, all in this main were 2 cubes of Cod 😏, small portion more like a taste menu size than main dishes.

6/10Great location. Service was subpar. No water offered. No check up when food delivered. Server was missing in action the whole meal. Ordered rack of lamb medium rare. Came with three chops. One was medium. Others were well ++. My wife ordered the club sandwich. It was very good as were the fries. Overall, a bit disappointed. It coulda, shoulda been great but it wasn't.

9.5/10I visited Faro with my best friend and we both LOVED the restaurant. Its located at the heart of the old town, amazing view, amazing food. It even had live-playing music. Overal all we are, both, really happy with the whole experience.

7.5/10Shown to a seat with a lovely view in the large terrace. Service was good to start but then became slow as the afternoon progressed-as if the servers wanted to go home. Food was good-veal for me and cod for my dad. Large portions. With a bottle of wine, coffee and one dessert bill was around £55.

8/10I went to O Castelo for the fado and was not disappointed. The food was perfectly fine, well prepared but nothing special. The service was excellent. The fado was a real treat!
