Excellent evening, was fantastic to try new dishes. Benches uncomfortable but got a cushion when noticed I was uncomfortable. Would recommend to anyone wanting authentic Portuguese food. Service was impeccable, friendly and made an effort to explain each dish. All this added up to a fantastic evening for us all.

It was our third visit to the restaurant and didn’t fail to provide us with a fantastic meal washed down with unlimited wine!!

Great food and service is excellent. My only negative is the bench seats with no back are a little uncomfortable if like myself you have back issues. We were a party of six and space is limited so only the 2 and 4 seater tables had seating with backs. I will certainly be returning despite this.

Having visited this restaurant several times previously, the standard remains high. Very friendly traditional restaurant. More an experience than a meal out! Food very fresh and tasty, great value, would highly recommend.

Unmissable opportunity to taste excellent Algarvian specialties. Really recommended if you are around Ferragudo.

+4Wonderfully charming and homey ambiance you feel as though you’ve walked into someone’s dining room. One suggestion take a taxi as getting here can be challenging, it’s located in a residential neighborhood with very steep hills and narrow streets. And our GPS got confused and we drove around in circles. It’s a set menu for 38€, 7 courses, five starters and two mains one fish and meat. All of the dishes are authentic Portuguese cuisine and mostly seafood. Truly fresh ingredients, some highlights fresh clams in a garlic butter sauce, lightly battered shrimp, fresh fish with homemade pasta in a light broth with piri piri and cilantro. The pork on the bone in a light stew was so incredibly tender and juicy. The mini dessert sampler was fantastic! The almond crunch was fantastic as was the lemon and carob cakes. The service was excellent and our waiter is the son of the owner’s and his Mom is the chef who we met and thanked her for a truly phenomenal and special meal.

We really enjoyed the opportunity to eat authentic Portuguese food. The evolving menu means that we were eating the freshest seasonal produce. The staff was courteous, taking the time to explain our dishes as well as accommodating to one our pescatarian preferences. Would recommend and planning to return when we return to the area

Good food but…. We came here last year and had a great meal, full of lots of different dishes, everyone a surprise and very tasty. 12 months on and we decide to come again, expecting great things. It was somewhat disappointing that all but 1 of the 7 or 8 dishes we were served were exactly the same as 12 months earlier. I could understand if 1 or 2 were the same but not virtually all of them. It kind of spoilt the concept of ‘no menu’ and being surprised at what you get. There isn’t much incentive to return to the restaurant if you are getting the same food each time (albeit very good food). There are many more traditional, local dishes that could be served to make return visits more interesting. Whether they are just in the habit of making the same things week in week out I don’t know. Maybe we just got unlucky second time around.

We loved the ambiance & old world. Food delicious too. If I had a comment because it was January a little heat would be nice in the restaurant. Having said that we will go back in summer.

The restaurant is very welcoming I asked for a romantic touch and they made the effort! It was great This is the best place to taste the local Portuguese food. But bring cash because it is the only payment they accept

The food at this charming restaurant was delicious. It was our first experience here and it will now be our favourite restaurant to take friends or family or for a treat. They have a set menu where every dish is of excellent quality. There are 5 starters, 2 main courses, deserts, coffee, water, and wine included in the price, along with homemade lemonade for the designated driver. We had a tapas board, warm bread with olive oil and garlic, mackerel in onion sauce, tempura sardines, clams and cockles as the starters. The mains were monkfish with tomato rice and pork with roast potatoes. Desert was a selection of lovely traditional cakes. The whole meal could not be faulted.
