We had a wonderful dinner at Pizzeria O’ Pagnottiello in Anzio and I can honestly say it was one of the best pizza experiences we’ve had in Italy. The dough was incredibly light and flavorful — you can tell it’s made with real care and skill. I tried a classic margherita and it was perfect: soft, slightly chewy crust with a deliciously fresh tomato sauce and just the right amount of mozzarella. We also shared a plate of fritti — everything was crisp and not greasy at all. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and even though the place was full, service was fast and attentive. The atmosphere is lively, great for families or a casual evening out. If you’re anywhere near Anzio, definitely stop by. You won’t be disappointed.
