I've been visiting Okasan almost since its inception. The main dishes are exceptional and some are even better than a good restaurant in Japan, everything else is still incredibly good for being a Japanese restaurant in the middle of Italy. The chef never misses a beat and the experience as a whole is something you would wish to get back to every day. Best dishes: Salmon tataki, Curry udon soup, Nigiri flambé mix and Wagyu A5 (when available)

The raw fish always tastes fresh and the rolls are well made and hold together. The edamame are t as bright and fresh looking as I’m used to but they’re firm and flavorful. The service staff is always attentive and welcoming, without making you feel rushed. The prices are a bit high and excessive for certain dishes.

The food was really great! Top quality! However, there were only 2 waiting staff during dinner service plus the restaurant was full so the service was considered slow. But the food made up for the slow service. Highly recommended!!!

This is the best restaurant in Rome. My family went to eat there two nights in a row when we vacationed in Rome last week. It was one of the best Japanese restaurants I have ever eaten at outside of Japan. The dishes were authentically made by Japanese chef, the taste of the dishes was exquisite. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are tired of eating pasta dishes again and again in Rome.

Excellent Ramen and authentic Japanese flair. We enjoyed everything we ate...and we ate a lot. This was our first dinner in Rome and it definitely met the mark. Favorite dish: Curry Udon. My only desire is for larger portions of ramen. Otherwise this place was fantastic all around.

It was calm inside the restaurant and the food came pretty fast. The one thing i remembered the most was the salmond sashimi, the fish was rich, fatty and flavorful.

The sushi always tastes fresh and the portions are ample. Our favs are the chirashi and the shrimp tempura rolls.

Needed something fresh to break up all the pasta and the pizza out here. We rolled the dice on okasan and were thrilled to find incredibly fresh fish , nigiri were fantastic. rolls was great, edamame was a greatly needed vegetable. we finished off with a bowl of ramen, pork was succulent and broth was tasty. everything tasted really good. thanks!

We were craving for Asian food near the Vatican and good that we discovered this place. The servers were very nice and made us comfortable. The food is great especially the sashimi, although the rice menu can be improved. The atmosphere is very homey and we would love to come back again if given the chance.

The staff were welcoming and the ambience is good. I had high expectations but the food did not live to it! We ordered a miso ramen and it was pretty tasteless and the pork meat was just a piece of fat. Disappointed.

Been a struggle to find good Japanese food in Rome. This was so good would easily hold its own in the US. The Sake was pretty tasty too.

We had an amazing experience at Okasan. All food was prepared with great care and attention to detail, perfectly presented and delicious. All staff were super friendly and helpful. We were a party of 8 with 2 kids and while the place is family friendly and accessible, we should have brought some activity book or something for our children, but the staff helped us out and gave us some paper and pens for the kids to draw allowing us to spend more time sampling all their desserts - I believe I tried green macha tiramisu/cheesecake, the fantastic Sakura dessert and also plum wine - all exceptionally tasty!!

I was wowed when I entered the restaurant! The flambe sake nigiri was the best I’ve ever had —it was melting in my mouth! They have ramens too. A must go for every Giapponese food lover.

The food was definitely very good. Unfortunately the attention given to allergies is was quite disappointing. I’m allergic to eggs and ended up feeling quite bad after eating some raviolis which were supposed to be egg free. This detail turned an experience that could have been perfect into a miserable evening.

Food quality is usually above competition. Sake choice is limited, but they offer some interesting labels. Service is attentive and professional. A place to visit again.

Food was great but they didn’t have a full menu. They were out of Wagyu and Toro. Yes, those are delicacies, but they advertise having them. Also, the service was a little confused. Overall this is the best Japanese restaurant in Rome. It is authentic and delicious.

Best Japanese food in Rome. It's authentic and tastes great. The service is a little slow at times. They need more staff if they are going to be that busy.

My favourite sushi in Rome, definitely the best one in the neighbourhood. Japanese chef, very good fish and creative dishes. You pay for the quality of course, but it's worth it!
