5.5/10The food was good! Once we ordered dessert, time went by, as half an hour went by until we decided to ask for it. It turned out that the waiter never placed the order. They offered us a rushed order of crepes to make it up, but still, there was little consideration for the client.

10/10We ate dinner at Ommegang on a mild end-of-summer evening. It was a lovely setting for people watching. Our food was excellent - the mussels were tender and the linguini was just right. I really enjoyed watching the wait staff working as a team, providing frequent check-ins and service, and the senior staff person (Manager? Owner?) tending to details that make a difference in the dining experience. For example, he adjusted a wobbly table before anyone was seated there, rather than forcing the guests to call on a waiter when they discovered the problem. I think that this sort of attention to detail is reflected in the way the food is prepared, as well. Just a very nice experience all around.

8.5/10Great service and loved the atmosphere! The mussels were fantastic but the fries were just okay. My fiancé ordered the beef stew and mostly had pieces of fat that were not edible, but the flavor was great, just wishing he received better pieces of meat within the stew. Very good selection of Belgian beer. Overall, would rate 8/10 and would recommend if in the area!

5.5/10Restaurant in a cute area of town just around corner from grand palace. However, food was overpriced considering quality. For example, My 30 euro mussels and frites similar to 22 euro option just around corner and with better frites that was hot and fresh as opposed to sitting under a lamp and dry. Wife’s shrimp order was just 7 pieces of shrimp in oil and garlic. Wife ordered a quarter bottle of wine and got a glass. Notified server who never got the remainder, although she did correct tab at end. My 30 euro beer tour should have been 20 at most for 9 small pours. Beggar/homeless/scammer walking up to outdoor seating table and trying to hustle us during our meal. To be fair, they did run the beggar off once staff saw her. Would definitely try other options in area.

9.5/10Very delicious food in a great location. Mussels and the Flemish Stew were the best we've had in Belgium (many visits and lived there). The house beer is also very good. Crepe was average but the Tarte de Tartin was splendid. the place is a bit on the expensive side, but considering the location and food quality it is ok.

8/10We shared their award winning shrimp croquettes, a salad and shrimp pasta. We thought everything was good. The cream sauce on the pasta was a little thick/heavy for me, but good.

10/10I will never come to Brussels and not visit Ommegant!! The service was amazing, great ambiance and WONDERFUL food!!!! My team and I went after reading great reviews. We had reservations and were seated immediately outside, as we wanted. Our server, Van Der Voerde, came quickly with menus and then drinks. The biggest problem is the menu is VERY interesting and varied!! I asked for a recommendation for a traditional meal and, without a pause, he recommended the mussels with leaks, garlic and cream. OH MY HECK, it was sooo good, it’s worth the 8 hour flight all by itself! I shelled all the mussels and then ate as soup. DELICIOUS! If you’re tired of being disappointed with the food when you travel, you need to try Brasserie Ommegang . Your taste buds will thank you!!

4/10The restaurant was very busy and well recommended but our experience was very poor. We were seated right away but waited more than 10 minutes for drinks, then waited for bread, waited for appetizers and waited so long for our main courses that I had to get up twice and make sure that they were coming. Our server changed 3 times during the meal (likely the reason for the very slow service to our table) and was poor each time. We also had a clear view of the food staging area. Very unfortunately we watched them plate the beef tartare from a bowl that was sitting unrefrigerated and used /ungloved hands to rake it into molds or *back into the bowl* to sit on the counter until the next order. The food was underseasoned and underwhelming especially for the price. Would definitely recommend skipping this restaurant in Brussels.

4.5/10Disappointing. Restaurant was understaffed and the service suffered. Difficult to order and when we finally got the attention of a waiter, he proceeded to first take the order of the couple next to us, who had arrived 10min after us. After the order was taken, our drinks never arrived, our food wasn’t prepared evenly with some dishes already cold and others piping hot. The carbonnade was very tasty as were the croquettes. The vol au vent was cold and tasteless. The fries tasted of nothing and were unseasoned and lukewarm, and no sauces offered. When the food arrived, we asked about the drinks and the waiter explained to us that he only brings the food out and is not responsible for the order. He didn’t offer to send anyone over to help. There was no check up from anyone to see if the full order had arrived or the food was being enjoyed. The table next to ours also had items missing from their order and the table on the other side complained about their pasta not being made properly. When we finished our meal, it was then difficult to get the attention of our waiter to get the bill. When the bill arrived, we asked for the drinks to be removed as they hadn’t been served and the waiter was apologetic but then proceeded to explain that some of the other staff were unprofessional, others were out sick and they were not robots and they make mistakes. We didn’t say anything about the service and only asked for the drinks to be removed since they weren’t served so we were confused by the waiter’s reaction and it seemed like he wanted us to feel apologetic and understanding about our bad experience. On our way out he did offer a complimentary coffee on the house but we chose to leave and get our drinks and dessert/coffee at another place down the street.

10/10So good on every level - we went back two days later to have the same starter (cheese croquettes and prawns Diablo) but tried a different main course. The beef tagliata was perfection. Great staff too - two perfect afternoons spent eating, drinking wine and people watching. Highly recommend!!

7/10Although I understand it is not necessary to tip in Brussels we tip every time. At this restaurant, when it came time to pay we were only given the option to tip 15, 20 or 25%. The server told us to select one. Not option not to tip. No option to tip a flat dollar amount.

3.5/10The service was really bad, the staff was fighting between each other all the time (shouting included) and they weren't very friendly. We have ordered two dishes with chicken and we got bones in it, when we talked to the staff about it, they told us it is normal because they are prepared from chicken .... In addition, we have waited more than 45 minutes for our food. They refused to split the bill between us for no reason. Very disappointing ...

9.5/10We had a lovely time sitting outside and listening to the music of the different artists playing that evening. The food was awesome. As it was packed the service took a bit but it was OK as the stuff was very friendly and professional.
