Warm friendly greeting, cosy fire on a chilly evening and very attentive service. Food excellent as always. Pork Cheek, white fish Tatar and chocolate hazelnut excellent as was the Octopus.

perfect tasting menu on Valentine's Day . The chef always surprises with some excellent specials and the quality of the a la carte menu excellent .

We had been several times at the Oregano before and again, it was a great experience. It is definitely our favourite in the area. The food is consistently excellent, the staff very friendly and attentive. We can only recommend it, and we will be back soon ourselves.

I tried to go to Oregano before and they were fully booked, I am glad we tried again. The food, drinks and service were excellent, and the bill was reasonable. I went with the rev=commendation and had no regrets, looking forward to my next visit!

Be sure to reserve at this gem in the Algarve. Nuno and his exceptional staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. The food and wine are also exceptional and this is no surprise because Nuno also owns the Michelin restaurant BonBon next door. We live in Ferragudo for 10 weeks each summer and we dine here the most and our visitors love it. Everything is great black risotto with fresh catch of the day, salads and black linguine with scallops or shrimp to name a few but there is so much more. Just go! Ellen Azevedo

The outdoor ambiance was exceptionally pleasant, in contrast to the restaurant's interior, which is in dire need of renovation. The food was good, although I was a little disappointed with my starter, goat cheese in puff pastry, and the fact that the wild-caught salmon listed on the menu had to be replaced with regular salmon. I found the difference quite noticeable. The service was correct, but, with the exception of the busboy, neither of the hosts managed a smile the entire evening, but instead were constantly sullen. My wife was enthusiastic about her starter, the ravioli and her risotto main course, and my friends enjoyed their starters and main courses, which included ravioli, scallops, polvo, and the fish of the day. All in all, the four of us had a wonderful evening, with a few points that could be improved.

First dinner at Oregano and having seen the reviews and the menu was excited - the menu is good as is the cooking - my red prawn carpaccio was beautiful. The service started warmly but this restaurant shares some of its staff with BonBon fine dining next door and I think that might be the source of the problem for while the cooking at Oregano is great the service tries to achieve a fine dining finesse in a bistro environment but in the end comes off as awkward at best. My main of duck was fine but half way through I was asked if I’d like to have “the sauce” - in the end I should have said no as the dish was fine but a little dry without and I was used to it - in the end I said yes and the sauce changed the dish for the worse I get that restaurants are staffed by people and we make mistakes but the way the surprise sauce was presented failed to acknowledge it was missing, a fact only confirmed when I left the rest of the dish and asked if it should have been there from the start. Superb Food and excellent hospitality. We were offered a tasting menu when we arrived as the patrons this evening were light and manageable. Each dish was wonderful . We have eaten here a number of times during our winter stay in the Algarve. Never disappointing.

With all the recommendations and after trying to go there twice (both times they had a private function), the food was a bit of a let down. The service is really good! We might give it another try if they offer a summer menu.

Having read the raving reviews of this restaurant we were curious to see if they were deserved. They very much were! From the amuse-bouche to the espresso the entire experience was wonderful. Attentive service with a smile, delicious food and nice wines. We’ll be back!

By far the best restaurant we visited on our month in the area. The staff super nice and knowing their stuff, attentive in a discrete but relaxed manner. The kitchen blew me away with every dish I tried, not a crumble left on the plate. Can’t wait to return next time we are around.

It has been many years since revisiting Oregano due to Covid and other life changing experiences....however we forgot just how fabulous Oregano is.....attention to detail, patrons, food and drink with a personal touch. Will definitely be back and if you're reading this unknown, make a booking and enjoy making your own new memories too.

Definitely some of the best food I have had in the Algarve, best steak so far. Will certainly come back. The owner Nuno is incredibly welcoming and nice to talk with.
