Wow ! It was a very special occasion for my wife’s birthday. Numerous restaurants to choose from. A little research, the fork helped us . 20 mins walk , inevitably stay away from the main tourist areas and what a gem it was . Wonderful food , amazing people and a fabulous evening . I chose fish, seafood soup, salmon gnocchi, and tiramisu. Every dish was absolutely delicious. I especially liked the fish — it was very tender and the side dishes paired perfectly with it.

Osteria aea canevassa is a real treasure. Set in a quiet corner of Dorsoduro, it offers a superb menu of local specialities as well as a well-chosen and good value wine list. The staff were extremely friendly and the overall experience wonderful.

What a hidden gem. Great service and fabulous food. Freshest burrata, perfect pasta and seafood. Very happy with our dinner choice for our first night in Venice. Waiter was keen to explain anything on the menu. Not rushed, took our time to savour the perfect flavours.

The dishes have little to no flavor. I understand that fresh seafood is good on its own, but i expected more complexity from a restaurant of this price level.

+5We ordered many dishes and they all delicious. We love the food. It’s sad the restaurant located not beside the dome but the deck tables can see part of the building. The only thing they should think about is please don’t stand two big guy in front of the restaurant. Although they are very kind but overall looks scary if people never be there. May be they act like looking for the customer but it seems doesn’t work very well.

The Fork has yet to steer us wrong. Our food was great, service was perfect too, and we met wonderful people. Another delightfully memorable evening in Venice! I had the pasta with scallops and mushrooms, and my wife had a vegetarian pasta. Both were fantastic!

The food was fantastic. We both ordered pastas and both of us thought that they were among the best pastas we've ever eaten. We also shared the pistachio souffle, which was more like a molten cake than a safe, but it was fantastic. Highly recommended.

We had a table for four outside under a heating lamp and it super nice and warm despite the outside temperature of 16 degree Celsius. The waiter was super nice and quick making it a lovely evening. Finally the food, delicious and for the centre of Venice not to expensive. We had a lovely three course dinner and will definitely come back next time when staying in Venice. On top we each got a glass of meloncello on the house. And when the bill came, the 20% for booking via TheFork were already deduced, no asking necessary, just perfect service!

We had a nice table outside where you can watch people go by while you eat. The bread was fresh and toasted, spaghetti Vongole was the best I had on our visit to Venice. Excellent service, waiter gave us a free delicious melonchello shot after dinner. High quality food and reasonable prices.

We loved the walk to this lovely Osteria. It was far less touristy and crowded than the area near our Rialto hotel. The service was excellent and the meal delicious. All for a reasonable price. I enjoyed the Spaghetti Al Nero di Seppia, though I did have black squid ink on my tongue! My partner enjoyed the lasagna. We were treated to an appertivo. So glad we found this little gem.

The Chianti was superb, the food very nice & good to see a different menu from most other restaurants in Venice. Service was top notch too. A lovely relaxing experience.

Great food and fantastic service. The menu is very limited, but if you find a few items you like - you ready for a great evening. Very reasonable prices on food and wine. We enjoyed the Spaghetti Carbonara, Al dente pasta with excellent sauce. Lamb chops were cooked well, slightly too much, but good. The Sea Bass (Fish of the day) was just ok, not much flavor, but vegetables good. Great local Sauv Blanc wine. The service is fantastic - very attentive and pleasant. We sat outside and watched the people go by. Give it a try!

The waiter was attentive and advised us about the specials and answered our questions about the menu. It is a modern menu with twists on Italian classics (I had the ravioli which was made from black squid ink and stuffed with fish). The waiter helpfully replaced a glass of wine which had got a fly in without even asking which was a lovely gesture. A quiet place off the main streets of Venice and near the university. A great find and would recommend going there
