Our third visit, the filet with black truffles was amazing. The service is first rate.

The food was decent, but the prices were far too high. €35 for a truffle pasta felt excessive -it was the most expensive meal I've had so far. The staff were not particularly friendly and came across as somewhat pushy. It also seemed like whether or not you speak Italian made a noticeable difference in the

Truffle is expensive and not very tasty.

The service was ok. The dishes where very expensive for roman standards. The food was blend and the truffle is the cheapest truffle there is. Also no flavour. I send the risotto back. And they offered me an other dish, but is was blend as well and also the pasta was not even al dente but i think a 5 min cook. No there are a lot better restaurants, with better service, food and ambiance , and for far less money

To be honest, I was in love with this place for many years. But this time, something dramatically changed in everything. I have to say beef tartare is still great, but all other dishes changed in appearance and also in taste which is really sad and then comes the price which is on the level of really expensive restaurants in Rome, mostly located in 5 star luxury hotels. Staff looks really tired and maybe from this comes lack of simple service, I know it is Italy and I do not expect super service, but bringing different style glasses for same wine, when bottle is 150euro, forgetting to bring water to the table and in the end reminding me that service is not included …. Overall, sadly, became not worth it, for this price tag, you can go any place and have better service, better food and better atmosphere … Hopefully owner reads and will change something

Food was really good! However… personnel was stressed and unorganized. They were quarreling over our heads so frequent during our stay (one hour) that it became funny! There was no constant music (one song, silence, one song, silence). The light over the bar was broken (flashing during our stay) and finally when a lady entered the Rea stair at, we thought she was the “boss” beacausw she was making comments and we as pressing the staff in a noisy way. I honestly wish that it was a bad coincidence and they fix their image and behavior. For a 80€+ dinner it was not what we expected…

We chose OB because it specializes in truffles. It was a memorable and unforgettable evening with a sensational entree of pasta and white truffles. The starters, desserts, service and ambience were equally good, but the all star was the white truffles! It's a delightfully small, modest and relaxing setting. Being first timers to Osteria Barbarini, we know we will return!

We had a lovely time at Osteria Barberini. Everything was great (food, wine, environment) and the staff very attentive and friendly. Would easily go back there tomorrow….

Nine years had passed since our last visit to Osteria Barbarini. I had recommended it to a number of friends who would be visiting Rome. We recalled it as one of the best dining experiences in Rome. The current version has slipped a bit - it is still a good restaurant featuring a good value truffle menu - but it is not quite what it was. That said, the staff was exellent, the truffle menu very enjoyable, and the remodeled space pleasant. They have a nice wine list, however, my first four choices were not in stock. I finally asked the waiter to recommend something, which was very nice. We will likely return on a future visit to Rome.

The food was just ok, although truffle is served, it did not have a full impact on the taste of the meal. The servers were not attentive, lacks that certain concern for the customers. We asked to be moved to another table because it is too close to the door and it was a very cold night when we had the dinner. The portions of food are not filling as well as not appealing to look at. Overall, our experience is subpar to what we’ve expected to have a great experience with excellent tasting, appropriate portions of food. I will not recommend and even come back to this restaurant again.

I was at the Osteria few years ago, and it was perfect and full of people. I don’t know what happened, but today was terrible. No meat in lobster, the tagliolini not aldente, service poor. The restaurant empty of people. I will never come back

A complete tourist trap. It is a famous truffle restaurant, but their truffle had no aroma or taste at all. I honestly didn’t feel like I was eating real truffles. We ordered the sea bass carpaccio, lasagna, and risotto, all with black truffle, but every dish was bland and flavorless. We were seated in the basement with flies buzzing around, and the restroom was wet, smelly, and dirty. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Definitely not recommended.

We were initially impressed by how friendly and welcoming this Italian restaurant seemed, but our experience soon turned disappointing. When we sat down, we noticed that every printed price on our menus had been covered with handwritten labels showing higher amounts. A “specials” page listed white truffle pasta at £70 — we could see the original £40 price faintly beneath. We decided to order from the regular menu, yet even those prices were inflated. While waiting, we noticed locals nearby had menus with the original printed prices, much lower than ours. When the staff realised we’d compared menus, they awkwardly adjusted our bill to the local prices. Though we appreciated that, it left a bad taste. It’s upsetting to feel singled out and overcharged simply for being tourists. A warning to other travellers: always check menus carefully, as some places sadly take advantage of visitors’ trust.

I honestly expected a bit more from this restaurant. The food felt pretty average, and the atmosphere wasn’t very cozy. It also seemed like most of the guests were tourists, which made it feel less authentic. However, the staff was wonderful and really put in a lot of effort

Very poor service. Food is about average if not mediocre. This place used to be better; now it’s just another tourist trap. Never again…

Threw up all night. Terrible experience

The service was terrible, the server took our order and never came back. The food was also not good, it had no flavour and was not fully cooked.

The lasagna sauce was congealed, mostly noodles stuck together. My partner enjoyed his meal.

It was a beautiful day. We ate outside with a lovely view of the Barberini Fountain. The food was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked, but a little bland. I had the grilled chicken and my husband had the Saltinbauca. The Tiramasu was divine. Service was a little on the slow side, but good.

We ate at the Osteria a few years ago , this is why we returned, we remembered the food was tastier.
