We had a wonderful meal at Da Genio. The taglierino al pescato was fresh and delicate, with perfectly cooked pasta and beautifully balanced seafood. The ravioli di boragine al tucco and the tomaxelle were outstanding — true traditional Ligurian flavors, rich yet not heavy, showing real care in the preparation. The Milanese con l’osso was generous, crispy on the outside and tender inside, exactly as it should be. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service attentive, and you really feel the authenticity of Genoese cuisine in every dish. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience genuine local cooking with excellent quality.

+3This was by far the most magical and authentic Genovese restaurant we’d ever been to! My wife and celebrating our 20th anniversary were joined by sister in law brother in law for this leg of the trip and it absolutely superb! It wasn’t just the food, the house wine (to die for btw) or the people, but the guests themselves all locals were absolutely phenomenal! As someone with a middle name of Marcello, I’m now forever to be Marcello de Calabria! They thought I was Calabrian with the little Italian I speak and they thought I looked Calabrian! Perhaps because my grandfather was half Sicilian? Either way, this Californian was in absolute heaven!

It was a good experience. Fun to find.The food was good. More expensive than we had anticipated. In the main room the Italians seemed to be having a good time.

Loved this place, great service and simple, honest, and tasty food. Pasta was excellent. Restaurant was very busy, testimony to how good this restaurant is. Host was very good, and whilst being the only person serving, was very personable and efficient. Would definitely recommend.

The service was fine. My first pasta dish (ravioli al tucco) was very nice and tasty. I personally didn't enjoy my mixed fried fish dish (and would have preferred less fish and something other than just a wedge of lemon to accompany it - and/or advice on side dishes). (My rating of 'ok' for the ambience was only because I was booked in early in the evening and so the first to arrive.)
Osteria da Geniothank you very much for your review, unfortunately we Italians accompany the fried dish with lemon. then if he orders me a fried fish he can't expect more to arrive. we open at 7pm: as per your reservation, you arrived at the same opening time and it is normal not to find other guests thanks Michele

We sat next to a large stone wall covered in ivy. Service was great and fast. Wine suggestion was on point. 2 cocktails, 2 apps, 2 entrees, a bottle of white, and 2 espresso ls for 99€. Phenomenal!

Excellent neighbourhood restaurant away from the bustle of the city but only a few minutes’ walk from Via Settembre XX. Attentive staff who seem to enjoy their jobs. Interesting Ligurian menu.

Mikele is the owner and server and gentleman of the house. He is a wonderful person who serves great food with great care. I have been three times in the last year!

Excellent food. Super service. Quiet location, off the beaten path. Owner is a one man band and does it very well. Good value for money.

Great Food and Great Service. Our best culinary experience in Genova and one of the best in Italy. We are tourists from Poland, but we generally avoid restaurants aimed at tourists. We look for restaurants aimed at local people and the city inhabitants. Da Genio was recommended to us by local taxi driver. This is the place with typical Ligurian cuisine. Simple, fresh and very tasty. Great choice of sea food prepared by a chef, who knows that taste is most important not only the look, The owner who does the service is very gentle and smiling. We spent 3 days in Genova and dined 2 times at Da Genio. When we come back to Genova we will certainly dine there every day.

First off the food wasn't good. The veggie pie was overcooked. Clearly it was warmed up either in oven or in microwave rather than prepared for the meal. Fried seafood was not bad bad not good either. Sort of indifferent with no soul dish.

Excellent Food. Simple and very tasty. If one looks for a typical food from the region of Genove the place is perfect. The sevice excellent as well. We will definetly come back tonight.

Being in Genoa for work, I opted for a quick dinner. I was attracted by the good evalution given by the previous customers. However I was not really impressed by the quality of the food. The pesto sauce of the trofie was estremely oily for my taste....
