the waiters and restaurant's owner were very nice. the setting was good too. The starters we had were fantastic. Bur unfortunately the main course I had (tuna) was cold. I could tasted that it came from freezer

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Lucca. We come to Osteria del Manzo to celebrate and enjoy good food. The staff are very nice and the service is very efficient. Make a reservation because they fill up. Last night we celebrated our birthday there and it was perfect.

I loved everything about our dinner at Osteria dal manzo. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the setting was extremely cosy and the food was outstanding. I had the pulpo and I can honestly say that it was the best pulpo I ever had. Must visit when in Lucca!

We were not impressed with dal Manzo. We did love the fried anchovy app. My wife ordered clam spaghetti which was a 6 out of 10…it just didn’t pop with flavor. I ordered the beef diaphragm & potatoes - the beef pieces were incredibly tough! I was going to complain, but instead traded plates with my wife - she could not chew the meat either and left most of the meat on the plate. The prices are reasonable, but we nevertheless left unimpressed. To top it off the chairs at the tables indoors are not comfortable at all - I kept moving around in my chair to take pressure off (I am a skinny guy).

We loved the restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and the food was excellent. we ordered an antipasti, homemade pasta and the florentine steak. We can’t say enough good things - The meal was superb.

Service was prompt and helpful, the outside seating area was magical. I thought the pasta was the best I’ve ever had. We had the veal in tuna sauce as a starter - fabulous. I,epistles booked to come back!

We were here last year and loved the food but brought my parents in advance of our wedding and what a disappointment! The owner/manager was so rude when one of our party arrived early, barking at his staff and inststed we sit indoors with no air con with a small baby. It took 30mins to get a bottle of wine at which point we were given the nearest bottle to hand, the veal was so dry we didnt eat it and the octopus excessively salty. The ambiance was dreadful. The interior was all tourists who were having a pretty unpleasant experience. We left half way through the main and will not be back despite frequent visits to Lucca

The food was delicious and well presented. Two of our group shared a bistecca fiorentina which they enjoyed immensely. The wine list was not extensive but was fairly priced. We sat inside in a nicely decorated room that shows a lot of creativity!

We were looking for a well rated restaurant in Lucca that wasn't a tourist trap. After reading through reviews, we thought we were choosing a place that had something for adults and kids. We failed to check the current menu offering and it was quite limited and had little that children (mine) would choose. Tartar, several dishes with anchovies, a neck, sweetbreads (kidneys?), stewed rabbit sauce, tongue, crispy octopus, and a diaphragm of an unknown creature. The kids did fine with a tortellini al ragu and some steak, but just something to consider for families with less adventurous palates. I did notice, as the reviews had warned, that the wait staff seemed slightly depressed - one older man (proprietor?) had some enthusiasm and a couple of younger women didn't have much joy in their roles. The Florentine steak was delicious and we also enjoyed the fried zucchini flowers with anchovy.

I visited this restaurant several times. The first time it was outstanding- food and service. Each subsequent time, not so much. My last visit was with 6 other people. I had to got up three times to refill our wine glasses. Neither the server nor the owner came over to check on us during our meal. I had to ask for the bread- which had always been promptly placed on the table with olive oil w/o asking. It was a disappointing experience.
