10/10Fantastic place in the amazing old part of Lucca. Food really tasty and good, staff very nice, welcoming and friendly. I strongly recommend it if you want to taste Tuscany speciality based on a wide range of slow cooked meats, good wines etc etc

6.5/10The food at Osteria del Bastian was okay, they put a bit to much truffle, but over all it was good and tasty. But the surroundings and the staff was absolutely not okay.

10/10Tons of good quality food and nice atmosphere. Only a few vegetarian options: I tried the tartufo tagliatelle and they were simply amazing. There is a cheese platter as well. Worth the price.

8.5/10Very large menu with lots of different options from the region. Price seemed a bit high for the quality but luckily we had a discount through The Fork. Overall good food but not the best in Lucca. Cocktails were 7€ and very large so great value for money!

8.5/10Picturesque restaurant in the heart of beautiful Lucca. We were a group of six and they placed us in a room detached from the main body, so it felt quite calm and private. Yet we were not forgotten, the service was prompt, efficient and friendly. They have a very extensive menu. We recommend.mend that you still k to the traditional local dishes. Overall, a pleasant experience.

10/10We had an extremely good deal through the Fork which made this a very economical meal. The food was fine, the staff were lovely. We had a meat and cheese platter.

8/10Without the 50% discount the prices here are insanely high. A nice venue, good portions but 2,50€ for coperto, 2,50€ per bottle of water and no house wine make the bill wery steep from the beginning. Without the 50% off I wouldn't have gone there. Good food but kind of a ripoff...

3.5/10Service was really great, but that was about the only thing that was good. Not fresh produce and not very tasty. The soup tasted as if it had been sitting in a can for too long. The tomato sauce was overpowered by garlic flavour and the ravioli tasted like nothing, sorry.

4/10Perhaps the worst restaurant we went to after a month in Italy. The cacio e pepe pasta was soggy, way too much cheese, nothing like other places we had it, both in Roma and around Tuscany. The seafood pasta was tasteless, soggy as well (mind you, not in a "fresh pasta" way - just plain soggy). Felt like a tourist trap.

10/10My partner and I ordered cinghiale & maiale both with tartufo & beans & potato al forno con burro which we shared. The chef gave us just enough time to enjoy an aperitivo before producing an excellent meal We both enjoyed. The boss arrived but was too busy on the phone to give much time to us. However the staff were excellent at their job especially Cristina who know s her job and gave excellent service with patience to much older costomers. But we were totally disappointed When your system failed to accept our payment so we have therefore lost our YUMS. WHY

5.5/10Overall disappointing experience. The food was poor to average throughout with an oversized menu. The risotto was particularly dry. The house wine was also overpriced and the worst we have had in Tuscany. On a positive note, the service was prompt and friendly throughout.

2.5/10Such a disappointment. We'd visited this restaurant six years ago when we first arrived in Lucca and the food was simple but delicious, but it's now changed so much that it's not recognisable. Firstly I'd like to say that the staff are lovely and really friendly. Secondly the starter was delicious, but so it should have been. It was mixed meat with a variety of salami, lard, and other meats, all very nice. It definitely went downhill from there... I had chicken and porcini mushroom and ordered roast potatoes, and my wife had pasta with porcini. Mind you, it took a long time to decide on that as the menu is practically the same length as War and Peace! Way too many options and should be optimised. The food was delivered quickly, but just so disappointing. Way too much oil and the porcini mushrooms were quite tasteless, gritty, and kind of slimey. The pasta in the other dish was claggy and the mushrooms were the same as the other dish. Overall it was just so disappointing, and not helped by the standard of the drink my wife ordered. She asked for a spritz but it was so watered down there wasn't any taste, and I don't think there was really any aperol even in it. The beer wasn't much better and seemed very weak. The worst thing about it was the price. We used The Fork to get a 50% discount and our meal still came to around €47!! It seems as though the prices have been increased to cover the discount being offered. To think that they were valuing this meal at around €80 is a joke! We've had outstanding meals in Italy for that kind of price and certainly a lot better meals for under €50. Sorry, long review but I wanted to cover all the disappointing parts of the experience.

Service with young merry and efficient servers. Vino della casa low level. They should focus on male omg people come over again.. Octópus with chickpeas tordelli with ragù and two vino della casa glasses 65€....
