This was the last meal we had during our 2-week holiday in Puglia, and one of the best ones!! Very creative dishes and friendly service. For a very fair price

We didn’t regret stopping by Gioia del Colle on our way back to Bari from Matera as Borgo Antico was just a great experience. Excellent food, welcoming staff and dinner on a very nice square. Just try it !

The food was phenomenal, for the most part. The only thing that we did not enjoy was the beef tartare, which was not negotiable when we ordered the four-part serving of an appetizer (the other 3 parts were outstanding). The only reason why I gave Service only 4 stars is because the waitstaff was pressuring me to order 4 appetizers rather than 2 appetizers to share among 4 people. Given that we each were ordering an entree, it seemed like 4 appetizers would have been too much food. We ended up ordering 3 appetizers just to avoid further embarrassment and, as we had suspected, we had too much food, even though it was delicious.

Amazing service from both the hostess and the chef, who came to explain himself how a plate was cooked. Food is great - inventive, respectful to ingredients - but the attention, kindness and excellence in service was the best I had in Italy so far (2 weeks travelling already).
