At Osteria Il Moro, the food and presentation were outstanding—refined, beautifully plated, and clearly executed with great skill. The kitchen is operating at a very high level, and the dishes were truly memorable. Unfortunately, the service felt overly formal and, at times, pretentious. Ordering or asking for assistance was uncomfortable, and it seemed that Italian-speaking guests were treated more warmly. Notably, the chef greeted tables next to us but did not acknowledge ours. A remarkable culinary performance from the kitchen, but the overall hospitality would benefit from a more gracious and inclusive tone.

Food was awful. Meat had chemical taste. Pasta was not al dente it was actually hard. One bread option was heated in microwave and was like lead within ten minutes. Who offers water at 10-12 euros per bottle? Sauces seemed leftover or like they were sitting. All had same under taste. I was in Sicily three weeks. This was the only major disappointment.

The food was absolutely mind blowing. Do yourself a favour and try the fish cous cous. I have rarely tasted something so good. The amuse bouche, the pretend scallop entree.. everything is great. The staff is also very professional, kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend it.

Truly excellent and refined food but icy ambience and overall a somewhat pretentious atmosphere, starting with a water menu presented right at the start with price range oscillating between 7 euros and..23 euros.

Catastrophically bad! All dishes were more or less inedible. Really do not recommend this place. Was there with friends and family.
Osteria il MoroYou went to the wrong restaurant, it's just your opinion based on many other reviews. You were unpleasant customers, you booked at 7:30 pm, moved the table twice, sat at the table at 10 pm. You ate everything and after the bill the complaint. There is also the Mec in Trapani to eat a sandwich.

+1It was an interesting experience. Staff was very slow to address us after we were seated. Not a good start. We chose a tasting menu of chef’s classics from his youth. None of the other menus were appealing. In the end, we should have gone a la carte. The dishes on the tasting were as advertised, so our fault. But very similar and on the heavy side. Several of the dishes were good individually, but not together. The wine pairing was bizarre. On their web site, pairing was five glasses of different wines. That night it was also five glasses, but 2 of the same sparkling, a glass of white and then 2 glasses of the same red. Disappointing as ever wewanted to try a variety of local wines. And we never got a full second glass of sparkling, as we had unknowingly ordered a glass of bubbly when we arrived and out tasting glass was only half empty when they did the second pour. Basically a top up, not a full glass of wine. Nice restaurant decor, but service was very impersonal

amuse bouche is piece of bread plates are flat in taste., nothing special. Formal service. Nice ambiance ! and great wine list. why not more taste explosions ans experience and more dynamic in this nice restaurant?

The food was very good. However, we had booked through The Fork with an offer of a 20% discount and from observing other diners it was obvious we were not then treated to the same variety of Amusebouche and other details enjoyed by other diners eating a la carte. This rather spoilt the experience and either The Fork or the restaurant slipped up on this offer.

Excellent food and service! We immediately wanted to dine here again and tried to book for Sunday dinner but they were closed so until next time we visit Trapani, Osteria il Moro remains our #1 favorite restaurant in Trapani!!

Great place, with great food. We love it, and go every time we are in Trapani. The service is good, on the colde side… tha manager lady never smiles and always makes you feel like you did not order enough. Even when you order 3 dishes per person. Also, they do not seat you at some tables with explanations like - there is acreservation (that never comes) or those are for tasting menus (even though no one is there)… in any case, very good place with a very premium price for Trapani.

I was there for dinner with 10 minutes late. My reservation was with 20% off. I have been there with my gf for a romantic and amazing dinner with huge expectations. The only good comment i can leave was the waiter with blue eyes super educated and working super well. I am a restaurant and hotel owner So i know what i am saying. Received the bill without discount. Reservation cancelled on the fork to avoid to pay commission to the website. I don’t know how Michelin has it on the guide. Food wasn’t terrible but let’s say average. The flavours of dishes was all mixed, and when you go to these kind of restaurants you should have explosions of tastes. I think there are tons of things to revisit. From service to plates. Mostly you can’t close a restaurant and start mopping the floor while people are still eating. Horrible.

We loved our experience at Osteria Il Moro. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. Each dish was like a work of art and the flavours were outstanding. The service was very good, staff welcoming and professional. We will return to the restaurant on our next visit to the area.

A very racist vibe, not welcoming at all, the food was not amazing at all especially the tuna roe spaghetti. It was wet, lukewarm and felt like babyfood rather than a delicacy. Out of a completely empty restaurant they seated us right next to the bar which meant that the waiters were constantly hovering over us and were overbearing. It felt like we were being watched and they wanted to get us out of there as quickly as possible rather than providing good service. Waste of money and an overall uncomfortable experience.

This was in every respect an exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were attentive, helpful, and enthusiastic to explain the ingredients and cooking methods in each dish. This included the chef, Sr Bandit himself, whom I had the pleasure of meeting towards the end of the meal, giving me the chance to pay him some well-deserved compliments on the quality of his creations. The dishes were very inventive, giving a fresh twist to old Trapanese traditions. The presentation of each dish was a pleasure to behold, the tastes and textures superlative. Even the bread was notable for its high quality. Careful thought has also been given to the elegant ambience, table settings and lighting. At the end of my dinner, I felt that glow of well-being throughout me that comes from knowing you have eaten well and been served just right. After a 2-month holiday In Sicily, and many lunches and dinners out, I can say I have paid almost as much for meals that gave me only a fraction of the satisfaction and pleasure I experienced here. Great food, staff, surroundings AND value. What are you waiting for? Go!

We really enjoyed the creativity of the food, it was delicious and very impactful visually. The restaurant ambiance was also lovely, however, we were the only table and lunch (and we were grateful our reservation was accepted last minute!). We enjoyed eggplant cappuccino, raw spada for appetizers; a veal pasta and seafood salad as mains and a champagne raspberry dessert along with a nice bottle of local wine, Very fairly priced for the quality of the food. The first server (owner? I hope not!) was not welcoming at all (so sorry to bother you!), but her follow up was friendly and professional. All in all a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Good start with good surprises and good servings. However also some where the chef seems totally unaware of what he/she was doing.. and where we had to return the dish as not eatable.. Concluding, to large variance in quality.. and seemingly low interest in what you are doing.. Or in other words..not to the expected standard of 130euro per person..

The food was absolutely great. Each dish prepared with great creativity and care regarding taste, texture and appearance. Dessert is also not to be missed, a true highlight!

Food is wonderful & delicious but a bit expensive in my opininon. Service is very small. Took 20mins to be given the menu, another 20mins to give orders & 20mins for bill after asked for it. On a positive way food is delicious & great timing.

Beautiful experience with excellent service to celebrate a birthday and anniversary. Given the special occasion we were assigned a great table with lots of intimacy and a great atmosphere. 10/10! I can highly recommend the parmigiana cappuccino, the tonno vitellato and the raspberry and champagne dessert. A real treat for the palates.
