10/10The best meal I had during my time in Rome was at this off the beaten track restaurant. Their Roman Tasting menu was a culinary adventure through Rome’s most notable dishes and each was absolutely delicious. They have a very cool wine cellar deep below the restaurant that my waiter took me to see after the meal and then I got to meet the owner. An unforgettable and delicious experience!

10/10This place was great! Very extensive menu- if you’re looking for something other than pasta, this is your spot. Tons of menu options other than pasta. Although my husband did order pasta, I ordered the grilled fish which was great. This is a local family owned restaurant and it feels that way. Very quaint, cute, and great spot. The owner pulled us to the side between courses to show us the wine cellar and show us how Sylvester Stallone, Bill Clinton, and George Clooney ate here in the 2000’s. Our server hardly knew English which meant we knew this would be a great spot. 10/10!

10/10The loveliest, most authentic family-run restaurant, delicious food and very special ambiance. Get the owner to give you a tour of the downstairs with their 7th century sculptures!

10/10Off the beaten path. The kind of place where locals would dine. Menu offered a limited selection of Italian cuisine appetizers, first & second courses, salads & deserts. The fresh sea bass & ravioli dishes were outstanding. Good service. Not overly expensive. After dinner, we took a 10 minute walk crossing over the Tiber River on the pedestrian bridge to take in the Trastevere night scene & enjoyed some gelato for dessert. Overall a very nice dining experience.

10/10This was easily our favorite dinner during our two week Italian vacation. They took care of us like family, the food was delicious, the restaurant had a great ambiance, and the wine was also very good! I wish we had time to go back again!

10/10I selected the restaurant based on location and rating but I didn’t know anything else. We were greeted immediately by the family owners and seated and our waiter was so friendly. Because they were not busy he offered us a tour of the wine cellar to help my wife choose her wine and it was an amazing step back in time (if it’s not busy ask and see if they can show you it). Our food was delicious (wife had the lobster spaghetti and I had the veal and peas dish) and we literally both savored each bite before taking the next because it tasted so good. This is a hidden gem that you must try and it is away from the main tourist areas.

10/10We had a lovely evening. The owners and staff were warm and welcoming. The service was great and food delicious. It was our last night in Rome and it was a perfect choice. It is off the beaten path but should not be missed.

10/10This is one of those special restaurants close to the tourist spots but at the same time tucked away, off the beaten path. No frills, home-style lunches and elegant dinners with the best Roman cuisine you can find. A former U.S. president dined there as well (Clinton), likely before he went vegan. And you know that man could eat back then! Madon, the guy had a hollow leg!

10/10+1This is such a lovely place. It doesn't feel like a restaurant, it feels like my grandmother's living room. As I walked in, the smell of home cooked food transported me to my childhood... the food was absolutely incredible. It was easily the best meal of my life. Couldn't have chosen a best Christmas supper. The staff and the ambience were so lovely too...

8/10This restaurant is a bit hidden from the tourist circuit but yet centrally located close to Campo de Fiori. It is a genuine roman osteria and the food is excellent. We all had pasta and really enjoyed it. The tiramisu was also delicious. It’s a bit pricey but the quality and presentation of the food justify the above average prices. Service was just ok. The place was not busy and I was expecting a more dedicated attention. Nevertheless I do recommend Osteria Romana di Simmi.

8.5/10This is a hard one to write - on one side we went there to have the tastings menu that can be found on their website, but were told we only could have the from the menu presented (in Italian only) which was disappointing. On the other side the staff was very friendly and attentive, the food simple but very tasty and of high quality. Wine by the glass was large and quite good for the price. I guess that places like this is hard hit by the Covid pandemic and basically struggles to stay alive and that is why the tasting menu is not available right now as it would give to much waste in the kitchen. 10/10We were welcomed by Elizabetta and treated like royalty. While ur table was being prepared she took us downstairs and told us of the history of the building. It was fascinating. We had an incredible meal. It was prepared perfectly and the service was wonderful. Friendly and inviting. I would recommend this experience to anyone. It was indeed an experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

5/10food was tasteless. Service was about show--taking us down to the wine celler and showing us a picture of the waiter with George Clooney and Bill Clinton, but the fact that we had to ask for olive oil for our bread, he never removed the prosecco glasses we used at the start and the owner and her friends were smoking in the restaurant completely kills any positive anything. AVOID

10/10We made a reservation on the early side so not many people were there. The owner, of the restaurant, took us on a tour of a lower level, ruins from teatro di Pompeo. It’s like a museum with old artifacts, really impressive. Very nice for him to share it with us. We ate tagliatele with prosciutto and chicken in a red pepper sauce, both which were delicious. Sides of a.really delicious broccoli romana...best ever, artichokes and roasted potatoes. The owner also brought over a small tastes of amatrichiana and cacio Pepe. The service could not have been better and the food wonderful. People should be lining up to get in.

8/10Food was good. The Coda alla vaccinara was really savoury, tiramisu was good. Service was nice though a bit slow. Decoration was a bit old to me but it has its charm. If you want to take your time, you might want to go there.

10/10Lovely people here. Very cozy, but classy too. First thing when we sat down they brought us each a glass of prosecco. And within a couple minutes we heard American music playing over the speakers. The bruschetta was delicious and the buffalo mozzarella as well. We ordered a bottle of the house wine, very good. For our main course she had spaghetti pomodoro and I had the lasagne ragu. Both were fantastic. Soon after that our server gave us a tour of their wine cellar and chatted a bit down there. Then showed us pictures of Bill Clinton reading there. They are very proud of that! Did dessert we shared a big tiramisu and capped it all off with two large classes of limoncelo. So to conclude, this is easily my favorite restaurant in Rome. Excellent food, excellent service and we had a great time.

10/10Easily the absolute best restaurant we went to in Rome. Finally some good food! The owners tended to us personally, and even took us for a tour of the cellar downstairs. The food was delicious. If we had known about this place sooner, we would've gone to eat there every day.

10/10Our first evening in Rome and we stumble upon this quiet gem tucked away behind a few alleys and in a quiet area, so we enjoyed our dinner outside. We've endulged ourselves into a 'shared' table d'hôte, for 45€ and we have no regrets. A chefs tasting menu with fresh pasta, lamb and multiple other savoury dishes to sink our teeth into, and sauce to drown our bread in. What a treat! I expressed such enthusiasm, and to my dismay, the waiter invited us into the basement of their restaurant to view what looked like the ruins of an old roman home along with an impressive wine cellar. Definitely a great way to start our first visit to Rome! Thank you for your hospitality and send our compliments to the chef!

9/10We had a lovely time. Went there with my wife and baby son and it was nice and quiet (we were first sitting!), which was a welcome change of pace from the manic tourist hot spots just up the road. The service was amazing - the owner took a shine to our baby and she was lovely with him - even held him so we could eat our lunch! Food was also really nice - extremely tasty and there was a great selection. We'll definitely go back there when we return to Rome (we put a coin in the Trevi Fountain so fingers crossed!).
