Classic Swedish husmanskost (traditional food) at a reasonable price in a cozy setting. The clientele is mostly locals with frequent visits by artists, actors, authors and musicians who live in the neighborhood. Pro tip: visit on a Sunday or Monday when they have a good deal on a two course menu.

Good food at good prices. We ordered the pork knuckes (suitable for 2-3 people), schnitzel and the burger. Very tasty and served warm.

I have always brought people this restaurant because I valued its service and food but this time I was shocked to my core. Because of the discrimination and exclusion I have witnessed for having a young disabled family member (young child of 6). We have been told by a waitress (black haired one) that my niece is disturbing other people with her laugh and sounds and to please stop her or to please leave (the leaving part was implied). I always thought that Sweden is a place of consideration and inclusion, I guess there is an exception to everything (at least I hope so). The worst part came when I left the restaurant when I was told that „she shouldn’t be here“.

The schnitzel was amazing and all the other food was very good too. Unpretentious and friendly neighborhood place mostly full of locals but also welcoming to us as tourists. One of the owners took the time to give us some off-the-beaten-track Stockholm tips. We've been to this restaurant on two different Stockholm trips over the last several years and will go back there the next time we're in Stockholm.

We ate here on the first night of our trip to Stockholm and it was so good, we came back two more times. Good menu of delightful food which was great for cold January weather. We sat on the small mezzanine floor which was really nice. The restaurant and bar were both bussing which made the atmosphere great. Really well cooked food and the staff were really helpful ad attentive. Definitely recommended!

Wonderful find! Friendly staff, great service, delicious Swedish food and a local ambiance. We reserved for 7.30, Saturday, and had a table in the basement area. Toward the end of the meal the ambiance really picked up. Recommend booking a table as it was full.

Amazingly friendly staff, cozy atmosphere and really tasty food at good price. I highly recommend Östgötakällaren and have been there many times. As good as it can get.
