While it’s in a prime tourist spot a few steps away from Notre Dame, this is far from a tourist trap. They take pride in the freshness of their food — their oysters are locally sourced! We got 12 of the mignonne, which were fairly priced but so, so good that we were tempted to order another 12. Their Peruvian cod ceviche was fresh and tasty too! The place was cozy, with Scandinavian-style interior, but what shone the most was the friendly service from the staff. They made us feel like part of their family. They spoke fluent English, Spanish, and French! I will definitely eat here again when in town!

It is not a top restaurant but rather a typical small Paris eatery. But - with a kick. In fact, there are several kicks. First and most importantly, they have their own oyster farm and offer an excellent choice of fresh and exquisite oysters. Second, they have all other famous French cuisine attractions like frog legs plus, of course, fish and seafood and desserts. The atmosphere is casual but typical Parisian, the one you expect from the Latin Quarter.

Some of the best oysters I’ve ever had anywhere. The drinks were tasty and the chicken and mushrooms dish was also very good as well. I’ll definitely return.

I went to Ostra restaurant with my family. The place is really nice and comfortable, waiters are kind and really professional but the most amazing part was the food. Oysters of prime quality, delicious duck and also onion soup; not to mention the cervix, excellent!!! Also a toast to desserts. An experience definitely worth repeating !

We booked a table three weeks in advance after reading reviews on the web. We were looking for a restaurant specializing in oysters. When we arrived, it turned out that the oysters had run out. We ordered a "traditional fish soup" and received a bowl of broth without fish. The interior is shabby.Tables even without paper tablecloths. We went to the restaurant across the street, sat down at a clean table with a burning candle. There were as many oysters as you wanted.

Bonjour, nous travaillons avec des stocks réduits pour garantir la fraicheur de nos huitres de production familiale, il est arrivé quelques fois (4 fois depuis l ouverture il y a un an) que nous soyons en rupture car la demande avait été bien supérieur à nos estimations. Nous nous excusons et regrettons cette situation qui en générale est comprise par nos clients attachés à la fraicheur.

Very disappointing. Baked camembert was a mini one and hadn't been baked, just blow torched on top so it was still solid and cold. Onion soup was extremely watery with barely any cheese on top and the tarte tatin was not a classic one as expected. Goats cheese salad barely contained any cheese. Service was slow and each bread top-up had to be requested.

What a lovely place! I've planned to visit them for quite some time, and booked the table for my trip as soon as the bookings opened. They serve amazing oysters, and the staff is super friendly, helpful and efficient. I loved Ostra and will definitely go back my next visit ❤️

The oysters were great. The fish filet was just OK and the pasta carbonera was not good -- there was no bacon in it. And no flavor. And two fish soups had very little fish. One bowl was all broth, the other bowl had some veggies. Friendly, helpful staff.

Oysters, snails, & ceviches were all delicious - perfect! One of the best ceviches we've eaten anywhere. The Dorade, & the duck shepherd's pie, were delicately cooked & nicely presented, but sadly rather bland. The café viennois & chocolate viennois were sadly too sugary, & the cream maybe from a can instead of freshly whipped. We wanted them to be bitter, thick, fresh, and flavourful but instead they felt a bit timid & American - like something from Starbucks. Service was prompt & friendly - though sometimes crockery or cutlery was forgotten & needed to be requested. The lighting was a bit too bright to feel cosy, & the music was nice but too focused on Anglophone artists, but we liked the ambience in every other way! Please dim the lights slightly, play nice Francophone music (maybe from warm countries, to fit the colourful vibe) and everything would instantly feel perfect!
