The food and service are fantastic. We loved this place.

Unfortunately the food was poor and dated. Presentation a disaster. Powder mash potatoes. Vegetables pre cooked. The fish was well cooked but covered in a tinned seafood mush. Oliver accepted our comments and offered a discount. Other reviews are good so perhaps we just had a bad experience.

A wonderful experience from crossing the threshhold. Great welcome, fantastic eclectic decor, good table with view. The food was superb and the choice was huge at reasonable prices. A hidden gem. We will be on the tram from Denia again!

Everything! We have been coming to altea for the last 24 years and have been going to oustau for the same length of time , never had a bad meal, Olivier and his team are always impeccable the food is amazing , I would highly recommend the “ no time to die” starter or the tuna tartar, and for mains the Henry cavill is to die for, however, this time I went for the Alain delon and he didn’t fail to satisfy, Emma stone is always a keen fave too. I always have crepe suzette for desert, which is delicious or the cheesecake, but not for the faint hearted the portion sizes are immense. Great ambiance, great service fantastic food and a second to none host and staff, a no brainer, highly recommended

We had a fantastic meal and very delicious, all the staff were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend it to our friends. The owner of the restaurant always makes us laugh and has good sense of humour but always making us feel special at the same time, a very happy restaurant.

Good ambience

Everything went well. The service was incredible and the food is truly amazing. We had a party of 12 with kids and the restaurant was able to accommodate. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. The duck was very delicious and so was the entrecôte. Dessert was great, awesome selection of wine and did I mention service was outstanding. Highly recommend. Best place in Altea.

From the moment we entered till the moment we left, the service was impeccable. The restaurant has a lovely buzz, and the food did not disappoint. The French onion soup had so much depth and flavour, and the duck was cooked to perfection. I have been visiting Altea for many years and eaten in most of the restaurants, most of which are ok/good; however, after visiting Oustau De Altea, this will be the place I come to again, again and again.

I can’t recommend this restaurant enough it was a fabulous experience The location is near the top of the old town and from our table we had wonderful views of Altea church literally above our heads. The decoration and details are wonderful The service was friendly, personal with some great humour and hospitality and the food was superb I had the Dr Zhivago garlic prawns and Tom Hardy Duck finished with a crepe with white chocolate ice cream coconut and melted milk chocolate my husband had the Miami vice quiche to start and Chris Evans chicken finished with blueberry cheesecake all of the dishes were impeccably presented and tasted sublime We enjoyed it so much we’ve booked to go again on the last night of our holiday.

We have been going for many years and we never tire of it. The food is always excellent . It is not expensive. The service is good and all the staff very friendly . When choosing wine the staff do not push on to you the expensive ones as other restaurants do . The restaurant itself is lovely .

I have a food intolerance and the attention given to me by our server Ruslan S was unbelievably good. The food was lovely, particularly the tuna fassbender and the crepe tarnera.

Food was excellent. The service was very poor . Staff wasn’t interested. Specially the waiter with the beard ! Looked tike he was on something . This ruined our night and we will not come back or recommend it to anyone!

Everything was amazing, we were there for dinner, 4 people, spent 30ish EUR per person. Ambient was great, food super tasty, and the staff took care of every detail. Great restaurant on a great location. What impressed us a lot was the engagement of the owner who was out there with the guests, talking, entertaining, making sure everything is 10 out of 10. Great experience overall all.

The food is amazing, staff very friendly and with a great environment. Each time we are on vacation in Costa Blanca we go there. Nice options for Celiacs, but no desserts besides ice cream... In the past they had it.

Outstau is our favourite restaurant in Altea. We look forward to go there where the food is delicious and the welcome and service from the staff is exceptional. I always have the gazpacho with strawberries which is heaven in a bowl and the ‘Emma Stone’ which is my ultimate favourite main meal there. I highly recommend Oustau.

The food at Oustau is outstanding and we’ve never been disappointed. We ate off the ‘Red Carpet’ menu which is excellent value for money and would highly recommend. The staff are always attentive and the ambience is great. Unfortunately I was so full I couldn’t eat my dessert but having eaten there on many occasions, I can easily say they are delicious, especially the apple tart. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Altea..

It seems like you ate eating n the jungle… but you are not!!! What a great experience…!! The food is still great…. It looks good and it taste even better… ambience… great, service perfect… very well trained/experienced staff… Also a nice touch that Olivier , the owner came on every table to have a small chitchat with his guests… Chapeau… The prices for all that, very reasonable…

It was our third time in this restorant - and every time it’s anazing. Food is very tasty, it’s absolutely tasting. Ssrvice and personal is in very high level! It’s unforgetable experience ❤️ Love it!

This restaurant is wonderful. The food is exceptional and the staff warm, welcoming and friendly. Even the owner/manager visited all tables to say hello and ensure everyone was enjoying their meals. Only one thing led me to give 4/5 for service - when we arrived (we had a reservation for 2 ppl) and we were given a choice between 3 different tables in the restaurant. We chose one, sat down, ordered our bottle of wine and food. Then the maître came over and asked us to move as someone else had booked the table we had. Seemed very odd given they offered us that table as well as two others. So that was slightly odd and disappointing, but otherwise the service was good. Strongly recommend having a reservation as its a very popular and busy restaurant.

It's ok. And by all means, maybe one of the better restaurants in the town centre - although I haven't been at many. But the waiter made an obnoxious gesture at a lady in our party, which we made a complaint. But we never heard back from the management.
