The food was very good, but the service was fantastic. We were large, boisterous party of English speakers and the server was kind and patient. His recommendations were excellent. Try the anchovies with vinegar!

Excellent food and service

The paellas seemed reheated as opposed to made from scratch. Bacalao was tasteless. Also kind of dirty inside

Great value seafood paella, we had a special seafood paella for 2 and it was packed with different seafood and full of flavour. Still think the prawns and langoustines were frozen as that’s expected for the prices (€20 pp) but the flavour and quantity made up for it.

Very average food, slow service and the wine was absolutely disgusting.

We arrived at 12 noon and had to wait a bit as they were still setting up. Service was good and attentive. They serve bread and pork appetizer as you wait. We enjoyed the Paella Marisco and the almejas a la marinera. Good value for morney and perfect lunch for a visit to the beach.

very bad restaurant I expect the old restaurant is maintained the good quality food , but very very disappointed.

Food was fine but the waiter was rushing us. We ordered the menu and the waiter was coming to the table all the time to collect plates and putting a lot of pressure to serve the next course. At the end the experience was ruined by their speed and even good food wouldn’t compensate. Ps: I asked the waiter directly if we could slow down, he ignored.

The food was amazing. The paella and black noodles were both delicious. The portions are large. The service was express by the owner.

The sea food parillada was pricy but very good. Everything tasted very fresh and was prepared simple but very well. It was just the parillada nothing accompanying it which would have been nice. A boiled potato perhaps. Service was friendly. We had a bad table at first but it was changed after a short while. Atmosphere it has lots, very spanish really a sound restaurant in an otherwise touristic area!

Paco Alcalde is a fantastic restaurant in Barceloneta. I’ve been there with my family during a cruise to Barcelona. We took the fixed menu and we were surprised by the food quantity and quality. Lot of starters (pan y tomate and various seafood dishes), fantastic paella and a gorgeous crema catalana. Really a fantastic experience.

Pros: the staff work hard & are doing their best. The location is great & decor is lovely. Cons: We’ve had a few paellas over the last few weeks & this one was not great quality. The presentation of all the food was hap hazard, prawns luke warm, many restaurants add some seafood on top of the arroz negro but this one just came out bare. The seafood paella also came out looking a bit anemic. Feels like a restaurant resting on its laurels, fed by the tourist trade, and not very proud of its food.

A very nice and local place. The place has been in the same family for four generations! The perfect place to eat a traditional paella with a glass of sangria.

The food was amazing. Hands down the best paella and fideo in all of Barcelona.

Really good place to eat paella. We had the seafood paella and it was great. Filled with lots of shrimps, langoustines and mussles. There was not a lot of service attention and they started closing down at 22.30 while there were still tables occupied, the food was nice.

It was an incredible experience. The service nice and good sense of humor and the food was delicious. The quantity of food really generous and the most important the quality of the food outstanding!

Food was good but it was full of people. Tables were very close together and waiters were so busy that they were a bit unfiendly. Too small to have so many guests!
