beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service

We ordered the Octopus which is wrapped in bacon and fried to give it an extra flavour and complexity. The veal is good quality meat and grilled to perfection with natural flavour and a light brown sauce

Beautiful cave like setting; unfortunately the food was nothing we enjoyed. The meat - one was too overcooked without a taste and the other was undercooked all bone and fat with very little meat. We also got a different side dish to the one we ordered despite the waiter repeated the order twice.

What an amazing place for dinner, lunch or whatever you prefer. Not only the place was amazing, but food was excellent and so was Vito's and Dino's service. We really enjoyed our time, looking forward to coming back!

The room is gorgeous. However, we went based on assurances of gluten free pasta which they did have but it wasn’t good. The server was great though - offered us an alternative and took it off the bill. So worth a visit - just not for the gf pasta.

Had a wonderful and memorable meal in the unique atmosphere of Palazzo del Duca. My companion and I are both vegetarian . She had the vegetabriab tasting menu while I ordered a la carte. All the dishes were excellent. It's a real treat to have such choice of vegetarian options.

A brilliant restaurant with a great menu. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view as the sun retreated. I’d highly recommend to anyone wanting a special experience in Matera.

A really nice place in Matera, little gem in a grotto! But also a superb restaurant with fine dishes and very friendly and attentive staff, prices are very reasonable. Good wine list as well. Highly recommended!

Our last night dinner in Matera turned out to be our best! This is a stunningly beautiful cave restaurant located inside The Palazzo del Duca Hotel. We were the first ones there so had pick of the tables. We got our table inside a niche cave within the restaurant. Food and service were spot on. Both starters (a yellowtail tartar and puréed fava beans) were delicious, as were our pasta courses (pasta with lobster and oricchiette with turnip sauce) and the sea bass filet stuffed with mushrooms and mussels. All three dessert options are if ffozen kind and the two we had were delicious (strawberry lemon delice and walnut rivoota cheese cake tart) And via The Fork, our bill was also reduced by 20%!
