A brilliant restaurant with a great menu. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view as the sun retreated. I’d highly recommend to anyone wanting a special experience in Matera.

A really nice place in Matera, little gem in a grotto! But also a superb restaurant with fine dishes and very friendly and attentive staff, prices are very reasonable. Good wine list as well. Highly recommended!

The resturant was beautiful and upon entering, we were welcomed and greeted with a complementary glass of prosecco as they set the table up. Great start. However, the food we found to be mediocre at best. A main course of 'pork loin steak' turned out to be cold thin slices of sandwich meat, thrown across cold cabbage and a dollop of cold mashed potato. We found this to appalling for a main dish priced at €20. The only reason why we ate it was because we were very hungry and anticipated 4 star luxury food. We also didn't get any olive oil or condiments with our bread. Although friendly, the waiting staff were on a mission not to be seen #notimetodie. We were left alone the night and needed to get up to ask for service. I wouldn't recommend coming here expecting luxury. I would also ask if your food is going to served hot or cold.

Intimate and beautiful dining room, exceptionally delicious local dishes. The eggplant ravioli with pumpkin and Gorgonzola sauce was divine.

Our last night dinner in Matera turned out to be our best! This is a stunningly beautiful cave restaurant located inside The Palazzo del Duca Hotel. We were the first ones there so had pick of the tables. We got our table inside a niche cave within the restaurant. Food and service were spot on. Both starters (a yellowtail tartar and puréed fava beans) were delicious, as were our pasta courses (pasta with lobster and oricchiette with turnip sauce) and the sea bass filet stuffed with mushrooms and mussels. All three dessert options are if ffozen kind and the two we had were delicious (strawberry lemon delice and walnut rivoota cheese cake tart) And via The Fork, our bill was also reduced by 20%!
