This place looks and feels like a dying business. Prices are extortionate whilst the quality of the food is average. If you are into fine dining, there are many other very good options in Siena, and for a more affordable price. When I visited, the place was almost entirely empty, even though it was a very busy Friday evening. Very odd for a fine dining place, they did not offer any wine pairing, but tried to convince the few people to take any of the two different wines that were probably already open. The service is not bad, but average. The waiter was not exactly enthusiastic, which is no surprise with so few guests. The impression one gets is that they try to squeeze as much money as they can out of the few people present, before probably the inevitable will happen, i.e., that the place will go out of business. There is no reason for the restaurant to exist for the money they charge taken the quality into account. A place to forget and avoid.

Il signore sostiene che il nostro ristorante abbia un'atmosfera "smorta", mentre in realtà si tratta esattamente di offrite un'ambiente formale, elegante e tranquillo, al contrario di come potrebbe avvenire in una delle tipiche osterie locali. Noi non ci proponiamo di essere come i nostri colleghi di Siena, ma cerchiamo di offrire una cucina, un ambiente e un'atmosfera completamente diversa, tutta personale, appunto "Particolare". Ci dispiace che il prezzo vi sia sembrato eccessivo, ma noi offriamo un prodotto e un servizio di una qualità indiscutibile, e i prezzi sono chiaramente scritti nel nostro menù, e nessuno vi obbliga a consumare una cena presso di noi, se non è il tipo di locale adatto al vostro budget. In pratica, il signore cercava un'osteria ed è capitato da noi. Ci auguriamo che il suo prossimo viaggio a Siena presenti meno imprevisti.

Particolare di Siena What a beautiful meal! Many restaurants in Siena are closed on a Sunday evening, so we were very fortunate to find Particolare di Siena. It is a beautiful small restaurant with a sophisticated, but welcoming atmosphere. Mattia is the friendly and congenial owner. He is extremely knowledgeable about food and wine and speaks very good English. We chose the five course tasting menu and found that it was an incredible value for 70 euros - especially accompanied by a lovely wine pairing for 35 euros. This restaurant is an exceptional value for the quality of the food, wine, atmosphere and service. Mattia and his mother, Chef Francesca, are delightful, talented, warm, and gracious hosts.

La signora Nancy si è dimostrata essere, durante la cena, una persona meravigliosa. E noi siamo felici che ella e il marito abbiano apprezzato la nostra cucina e il nostro servizio. Siamo onorati di avervi avuto a cena da noi. Siete persone stupende!
