This was a very pleasant experience. The bread and various butters were very good. The wine selection was also very good. We started with the octopus salad. It was flavorful and tender. We had the grilled sea bass and the black pork tenderloin. Both entrees were delicious. The service was exceptional and our waiter was extremely helpful and friendly. We highly recommend Pateo 51!

6/10It was a rainy night, we were the first customers, the first waiter brought, 6 items we didn’t order, meat, cheese, toast, even though there was already bread on the table, and olives. Then we ordered our food, we could see the waiters were loudly discussing and looking at our table, it felt extremely uncomfortable. After that a different waiter served the remaining food. He was extremely rude and abrupt. He gave us the bill, which included the 6 items, which was about an additional 30 euro. Then we asked him, he rudely said “you eat you pay, it’s the same all over Portugal “ we paid the bill and left, the worst experience of our entire trip to Portugal. And as we found out , it is not the same all over Portugal “. We eat places and were not charged separately for the bread and olives. The little plate of meat was $16 euros. We felt we were completely taken advantage off. We left feeling extremely distressed.

6.5/10Very nice service, food fresh prepared. Only reason why 3 and not more stars is that the fresh lobster was cut in pieces when served instead of splitting in two and serving the two parts which makes eating this exclusive's delicacy a through experience.

10/10This was a great find. We booked well in advance of our visit to Lisbon based on the reviews. Every table was reserved on a Friday evening and it was full of locals. The staff were fantastic and very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and really helpful with choices including the wine. The food and wine were great and the bread, cheese, olives and crab dip as appetisers were fab! Strongly recommend this restaurant but book early! Lots of tables full of friends and families and great atmosphere.

5.5/10Bread basket and olives on the table when you sit down are NOT free- and servers do not mention that when you are seated. Also, not enough options without gluten, considering it says GF options on menu - The green beans and the Thai curry dish need not have flour in them, for example. Server was pushy for this expensive restaurant.

10/10This is a real find, the waiter was very welcoming, they had nice little touches of a tasty cheese & olives with delicious bread to welcome us. We tried the prawn & cod a bras.. they were delicious. The service was smooth & slick, even though they had 2 other large parties in. We’ll be back, thank you.

7/10The food was not fresh as previously stated. How can you deceive customers like this?The octopus was over-salted and the vegetables with the fish already had an unpleasant taste.There are restaurants much cheaper and much better quality food.

Service and food was excellent. The octopus was the best I have ever had. My wife had veal which was equlally as good. The waiter was very helpful in selecting as we want to try Portuguese Verde. Highly recommended

8.5/10The food was amazing. Service was a little abrupt. And it may be something that was lost in translation but they gave us bread, cheese and meat when we sat down which we didn’t order. We thought it was standard but then got charged for it. That said, it was all delicious as were our entrees.

10/10The recommendations for wine and clams to be shared were excellent. The grilled octopus was incredible but I personally would have preferred less butter/olive oil. Whatever they did to plain steamed string beans should be patented. Wonderful meal.

10/10We were staying at the Sana Hotel locally and wanted a good locals type restaurant, we looked at reviews and seemed ok so we booked in. Great staff, menu in multiple languages, explanations of things we didn't understand. Ordered food and it was lovely tasting, hot and fresh washed down with a few glasses of wine! A little tip - the restaurant is hidden away and at one end of the alleyway there is a small park area with a drinks kiosk, go there for pre drinks, sit with the locals and enjoy a glass of wine in the park- we did, it was great..
