Besides the classic roasted pig (leitão assado) was good, I felt no as good as the ones I had in the same Pedro dos Leitões in previous experiences. The meat was slightly dry and the skin not that crispy.

Pedro dos Leitões is a must-visit! This iconic restaurant is the first in the world to serve Bairrada-style roasted pig—and it sets the standard. Every time I travel north in Portugal, I make a point to stop here, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. The food is absolutely extraordinary. If you think you’ve tried roasted pig before, think again—nothing compares to the flavor, tenderness, and uniqueness of what they serve here. It’s an unforgettable culinary experience. A true must-try!

After planning for many years to come to Mealhada, we finally made it. Picking the best known restaurant made sense. The food did not disappoint! Luckily we made a reservation, because we underestimated how busy the place gets and despite the size of the restaurant how many people would be waiting. All in all a great experience!

Delicious food, good service and great wine awaits you at this restaurant. I do recommend a stop if you are in this area of Portugal, and are looking for a suckling pig.

Spetacular place and food !!! The little Pork was fantastic !!! I eat the tradicional pork of the house with a good wine from that region called “bairrada”

The food was tasty and an experience certainly worth having. It’s not gourmet food and is the sort of meal that would be difficult to have to often.

Had booked it months in advance only to be told they don’t “do” bookings in the sense that they will in any way respect the fact that you took the time to book it. After waiting for 20 minutes for a table, just went around the corner to Meta dos Leitões - where I really would have always preferred to go - where we were readily seated and served with a beautiful meal. Highly recommend them.
