7/10This is the 2nd time il Mercatto refused to honor a 30% discount booking made through Fork. Booking was made 3 months ago & the restaurant only informed me at 2:30pm on the day of booking that they will not honor the confirmed 30% discount.. I’ll Meracto blames The Fork for the mistake but what is really annoying is that il Mercatto had 3 months to call me in advance as soon as the booking entered their system. Our lady server was excellent but both restaurant manager & director of restaurants were clueless awith regards to Marriot Bonvoy privileges.. We stayed in the hotel before & encountered clueless staff, so not entirely surprised.

10/10It’s a Restaurant with great mood, great decot and a stunning view… Mercatto is a restaurant inside the magnificent Penha longa’s Hotel and provide us a wonderful experience! I Truly recommend.

5.5/10The decor is like a cafeteria. Portions are small and nothing special on the menu. Taste is so so . It cold be better for guests want to eat in resort .

9.5/10Everything was great. Deborah was perfect. The only reason I did not give it a 10 was that the restaurant was quite quiet that evening. We would certainly come back again.

7/10Good food but slow kitchen and noisy small children make the overall experience not stellar. Also, bread and butter are offered for extra charge. The service door hinges from the service area to the main dining room must be lubricated and maintained properly to eliminate unpleasant squeaky noise.

7/10The restaurant is inside the resort Penha Longa so some things about the restaurant needs to be seen in that light. The food was rather good but price level was high considering the relatively simple food, that is however probably largely due it being a hotel restaurant. Pastas were well made and generally better than the pizzas and the other dishes so my recommendation would be to stick with the pasta. The service was overall friendly so no complaints. As it was rather empty they were more or less staffed to have one person per table so it was in that sense not a busy evening at all. The wine list was very short but still had a few options, the price level was however ridiculous, same wine that we had at a restaurant in Lisbon (and not just a cheap restaurant but rather a Michelin guide recommended place) was almost double the price here so value for money is pretty poor. So fine if you stay at the hotel but I would not otherwise bother to come here as there are many places providing the same level of food and where the bill would probably be half of what you end up paying here.

10/10A wonderful restaurant with great views and an excellent staff. The choice of items on the menu was good and the food was well prepared. The service was excellent as well.

5/10We chose the linguini lemon with chili and the pesto and both dishes didn’t had much flavor. For the price that we pay (even with the 30% discount) it’s definitely not worth it. The best was the desert, we pick the Ferrero Rocher and it was good indeed. Another thing is that after the main course, no one asked us if we wanted anything else. We sat waiting and waiting until we decided to ask it from someone. Overall and for the price tag, not a good experience.

8.5/10The food was really good. Some of the entrees were a little small, some were normal sized. It was hard to get to attention if the staff to refill our water and wine and we finally asked to keep it on the table. Other than that everything was great.

7.5/10The quality of the food was very good, the pasta dish was excellent but dessert did not arrive for over 45 minutes and as I was dining alone, I would have felt a member of the service team might have checked what I was waiting for. Once I called over a member of the team, they rushed the dessert out to me but no apology and it appeared on the bill. No offer of coffee or digestiv (which in a hotel of this quality I would have expected) so I just finished dessert and left. Food was very good but service could be improved.

9/10Me and my Familie went to diner at IL Mercator, a nice Welcome. And a Dutch waiter, Maud van der Plas, she did a amazing job. Help us with everything. Pointed us to the nices dishes on the menu, so we had a fantastic dinner. Thank you guys for everything!!

5.5/10The food was overpriced for mediocre quality. Presentation of food was nice but this was about it. The service was friendly. Classical hotel food - we didn't return despite staying in the hotel.
