9.5/10Busy and high energy place with many Portuguese patrons- always a great sign if you’re looking for something authentic. We ordered 5 dishes for 3 hungry ladies and couldn’t finish it all. We had eggs& sausage, goat cheese toast and a tomato toast, seared tuna with sweet potato and a brisket on bread. All amazing and everyone had a different favourite.

10/10This was our second visit to the restaurant , in a few days on our week long holiday. The food was wonderful. A new take on traditional Portuguese fare. Service with a smile and genuine friendliness. We will definitely return and urge you to go. Lovely.

10/10I love this restaurant! Has a very relaxed and rural Portuguese decor and the food is a showcase of traditional Portuguese delicacies. Sharing the dishes and enjoying them as tapas is the best option. The service and employees are great! I couldn’t recommend it more.

9/10We really enjoyed the food and service of Petiscaria Ideal. We had a very cozy table for our group and the service from the staff was very good. All staff collaborators were nice and gave their advice. The service was fast. The price for value was very good. We really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered for sharing, they were very tasty, had good portions, and were easy to share. The only thing we didn't like so much was that when the restaurant got full it was a bit noisy, maybe because there were big groups of young people. This was already when we were in the desert. Still, we really enjoyed our meal and we definitely recommend this restaurant.

10/10Petiscaria Ideal has been our favorite restaurant for many years. It never disappoints: the food is always delicious, the people who work there are always kind and friendly (even when they are very busy!), and the ambiance is relaxed. Perfect!

9.5/10I love the long tables and delicious, homemade flavors at Petiscaria Ideal. We arrived at 9 and a few items had already run out, but what we did have was amazing — particularly the baked codfish and potato from the oven and the beef tenderloin. Food and wine were plentiful, and all for a good price!

10/10This felt like hanging out at a friend’s house. Amazing comfort food for a great price. Can’t wait to go back. The tuna sandwich was phenomenal!

10/10Petiscaria Ideal is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is consistently excellent (we especially love the black pork estufadinha), the people who work there are really nice, and the ambiance is cozy and relaxed.

9.5/10A hidden gem - neatly located in a small street in a residential area this place convinces with its concept of sharing the dishes. Perfectly prepared and nicely arranged the dishes were served by a super-friendly staff - greetings to Gi' from S.Paolo! A must when you are in the neighbourhood - you need to reserve, though!

8/10I’m a big fan of their sibling business, Taberna da Esperança, and I had high hope for the Petiscaria as well. The menus are very similar, although I think this one has more vegetarian options. Everything we ordered was tasty and well-prepared, although I think that the options are, in general, too reliant on bread. We were a big group in an evening full of big groups, and I appreciate the challenge this brings into service, but I must say that ours wasn’t great. Both waiters were kind and helpful, but they simply weren’t enough. The acoustics need improvements, urgently. The loud noise was already unbearable even before our big groups started to yell…

9/10Lovely small restaurant we'd never have found without a recommendation. Firstly, the food - it was absolutely fantastic. Great modern takes on traditional Portuguese cooking, all served as medium sized sharing plates. Extremely good value for the level of cooking. Great, intimate atmosphere, sat at long tables (we were a group of 10). Service was very friendly, but very slow - perhaps understaffed, so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt. We waited an hour for the first food to turn up, the same with drinks. They were polite and apologetic but looked pretty harried. Would just have been good to have some bread and drinks to keep us going. The food was definitely worth the wait. My tip - drink beer or wine as the cocktails were poor, although not expensive, and we didn't really find a good cocktail anywhere else in Lisbon either. Would recommend highly, even with the service issues. A great night.

10/10Best restaurant for petiscos in town! Amazing food and staff. Highly recomend the tarantelo de atum, prego do lombo com Portobello and Lacrau Vinhas Velhas red wine is by far the best option.

6/10The restaurant is closed and the sister one next to it is offering a reduced menu basically. The service is ok. Seafood limited. Overall the first material is not bad but recipes and presentation below average. A bit of a tourist trap considering the prices and other restaurants in Lisbon. Nothing memorable I’m afraid and very strange to see basic toasts served in a restaurant.

9/10The food was one of the best we’ve ever had. Like seriously - if you’re in for a traditional quality food, look no further. When we visited, they were only serving outside but it was lovely nevertheless. The server was very kind, recommended us dishes and didn’t try to upsell anything - we really appreciate that! And the prices are great for the quality you get! Will be back for sure.

10/10We always look forward to returning to Ideal when we come to Lisbon and the food and service is always excellent. I recommend the seared tuna and the stuffed portobello mushroom but have never had a meal here that disappointed.

9.5/10Very cosy restaurant, with really good service and delicious food. I have been out of the country for years and hadnt been to this restaurant for a long time. Its still as good as it gets. Not a full ten for the not so confortable benches.

7.5/10The food and service was good. The atmosphere lacked a bit of liveliness since we were the only two guests. We were a bit surprised when we arrived at the restaurants address and found a dark, closed premise, with a paper on the door directing us to another address further up the road.

10/10I had a great evening at this tiny little restaurant. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful and the atmosphere was very cozy (they moved the restaurant to another space, a few meters away because of Covid-19 regulations, but it was great too). The dishes were also very tasteful for a fair price. To end the evening, you can have a pleasant walk in the surroundings after dinner.

5/10The main staff were very polite and helpful, and the atmosphere was good. However, we waited for our food for nearly two hours and in the end only four out of six dishes were served. We had to leave and go eat somewhere else.
