4.5/10Pasta lacked flavor and was not good. We had bolognese (not enough sauce), seafood spaghetti ( horrible seafood with sand, no tomatoes) and weird risotto with blueberries and sausage that looked and tasted disgusting. Chef was very arrogant / defensive and not customer friendly.

Platea propone piatti ispirati alla tradizione italiana, preparati con ingredienti freschi e ricette autentiche, che possono risultare diversi dalle abitudini gastronomiche di chi non conosce a fondo la nostra cultura culinaria. Ci teniamo inoltre a precisare che la signora che ha ordinato gli spaghetti ai frutti di mare ha chiesto di aggiungere salsa al pomodoro a parte, richiesta che abbiamo cortesemente rifiutato poiché il pomodoro non fa parte di quella preparazione tradizionale e ne altererebbe completamente il sapore. Allo stesso modo, il ragù alla bolognese non è una “pasta con tanta salsa”, ma una preparazione lenta e bilanciata che esalta la carne e la sua cottura. Bastava però guardarsi intorno per notare che, mentre il loro gruppo di 4 persone non ha gradito, tutti gli altri ospiti presenti si complimentavano con lo staff e con lo chef per la qualità dei piatti e del servizio. Continueremo a difendere con orgoglio la nostra identità gastronomica e la passione che ci mettiamo tutti i giorni.

8/10Great location with a terrace on the main square. We found the service a bit slow (not just food, but about 10 minutes to bring drinks after initial order. Food was good without being special.

10/10One of the best meals out this trip. An imaginative menu with various price points, although they do not have a dessert for those with a dairy issue, but that is quite normal wherever you are. I had a lovely mixed leaf and sesame seed dressing for a starter and squid ink pasta with a seafood sauce for my main. The wine is good too and reasonable choice of having it by the glass. Perfect lunch to go with a morning at Terme Tettecio.

+2The cocktails and wine were very good. We also enjoyed our entrees of octopus, duck and rabbit. The pasta course was tasty but the pasta was really undercooked. We like our pasta a dente; however, we were disappointed in how undercooked it was. We were expecting the restaurant to be excellent, but it fell short.

10/10Best carbonara that I ever eat in Italy. The selection of salami, mortadella, ham, parmeggiano for starter is really amazing too. Service was kind, smiling, quick and professional. The localisation is ideal.

Montecatini Alto is a beautiful village with stunning 360 degree views over the surrounding countryside. The village square, with this restaurant at one end, is lovely and intimate. We took a pre-lunch stroll around the village to admire the views and the village, which is full of characterful buildings. Unfortunately the funicular from Montecatini Terme was out of service, due to running repairs, but the trip up the hill from MT must be spectacular. We got a taxi from MT to MA but decided to walk dow the hillside path, back in to town. It is quite steep in parts, and somewhat uneven, so good shoes, walking boots or solid trainers are recommended! The restaurant is lovely, with great food and lovely staff.

Gentilissima Signora, Platea non è un fastfood, e per gestire una prenotazione di 13 persone alla carta occorre il tempo. Le consiglierei di godersi la sua vacanza in Italia e rilassarsi. Se il nostro ristorante non è stato all’altezza del suo portafoglio prossima volta optate per Macdonalds. Le garantisco , Vi serviranno MOLTO veloce e vi faranno pagare un prezzo modesto. Per un ristorante italiano , che usa i prodotti di qualità, 322,50 per una cena di 13 persone e un prezzo più che giustificato.

10/10Lovely place,beautiful decor.Staff were excellent, welcoming and friendly. Very reasonably priced.Four of us attended and with three courses, a bottle of wine, a couple of beers and sparkling water, we spent just over €200. Great value and great location.
