10/10We had one night in Lisbon before flying back to Toronto the next day. I set parameters for my dining search by the area I wanted to be in and price. The Porter met the requirements with 5 star reviews. It did not disappoint. The restaurant was lovely, the food was great and our server was exceptional. It was an evening of unexpected surprises...Not only were we unaware that the hotel and restaurant were built on top of ruins that were on display, we happened upon the Christmas lighting ceremony in the city that evening. One to remember all around!

10/10A beautiful restaurant with lots of space and attentive staff. The food didn’t disappoint. Make sure to have the asparagus with a coddled egg and parmesan.

10/10We couldn’t have asked for a better meal! The three meals and appetizers we had were delicious. The waiters were friendly, polite and on point. The atmosphere was relaxed and stylish. The perfect restaurant to sit and talk.

8.5/10We were looked after by Christopher who was charming and attentive but not too fussy. Made us feel special and went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed our lunch - top notch service at a very good bistro. Bread, butter and homemade pate to start was simple but excellent. Our mains of steak and cod were both superb. Desserts recommended by Christopher were good - menu just missing the option of a classic Portugese tart! Overall very good and would certainly recommend!

10/10The atmosphere was elegant and the attention given by the staff was superb. The food was wonderful The tiramisu was an experience one you would very much enjoy watching as it is assembled. It was delicious.

Overrated and Disappointing We came to the Porter Bistro restaurant based on its 4.8 rating — no idea how it earned it. Out of four dishes, not one was worth ordering again. The “Onion soup” was a pale, soggy bread-and-onion mash, nothing like the traditional version. The meat “Sirloin steak with sautéed vegetables, pumpkin purée and meat sauce” was tough, flavorless, and served with bland sides and watery gravy. Even the most expensive fish “Sautéed grouper with foie gras and vegetable broth” was let down by the same boring accompaniments. The tiramisù, allegedly their most popular dessert, was assembled at our table and served immediately — skipping the crucial step of chilling. The result? Crunchy ladyfingers swimming in cream. An insult to Italian cuisine. Bland food, poor execution, and absolutely not worth the hype and price.

9/10What an excellent staff, this really felt like having a cuisinary companion throughout the evening! We selected our dinner and drinks choices based on the recommendations of the two waiters and were fully pleased with their preferences. There were also enough vegan options to choose from and aside from little exceptions the dishes were excellent. Wine and cocktails were of memorable measurements and we spent a wonderful evening together. Out of so many different restaurants to choose from, we are glad we went for Porter Bistro!
