2/10They didn’t have available half of their menu. How is it possible that a restaurant doesn’t have most of their dishes on a Sunday night?

8/10First things first, we booked through the web site for 7.30 and arrived to find the restaurant closed and in darkness. Wandered around for 10 minutes or so thinking about what to do and went back to find the lights on at least. Finally caught someone’s attention who then informed us the restaurant did not open until 8. Found a nearby cocktail bar to wait out the time and spent yet more money while we waited for them to open. Not the best start but when we got in eventually the food and service were OK, nothing memorable. The fiasco with the website booking times and the actual opening time probably coloured my review somewhat!

10/10Public restaurant is as wonderful as it was 8 years ago when we visited last. It’s classy, totally reliable in its excellent food offering and the ambiance has an elegance that is rare these days.

6.5/10stylish place and our waitress was beyond helpful and welcoming eggplant appetizer was so laden with oil ... croquetas were tasty but seemed commercial product ... we both got the short rib raviolo ... who serves pasta over mashed potatoes ... pasta was rubbery but the meat was tasty ... greek yogurt/ice cream dessert was tasty ... the dinner special is a great bargain if only the food were better

8/10Paella could have been better. Too much rice , not enough seafood and edges were almost burned. Server was overworked and not around much. Shame because he was the only one that spoke English.

8/10The restaurant is great, the service is very good. I was just disappointed with the fake risotto that was served to me, absolutely no salt, overcooked and with plain rice and with lumps of white rice that didn't mix in the recipe. other than that the starter is delicious:

8/10Lovely restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel., just off Gran Via behind Primark. We enjoyed the chicken curry & mushroom risotto which were both delicious & reasonably priced. It was a nice change from all the Spanish tapas ????Nice decor with a good separation of tables . Nice wait staff. Would definitely return.

7/10My first time back to Public in 2 years thanks to covid travel restrictions. It's still a very comfortable space (but I do always feel like the chairs are sooo short!) We opted for the summer menu offer at 18.5 euros , quite a bargain. My risotto with mushrooms was very tasty but gosh such an enormous portion that one felt wasteful. My friend's burrata with mango and tomato was disappointing ... served ice cold so the flavor was hard to define. His Thai red curry needed additional spice; my duck confit was a generous portion ... but 5 potatoes? really? desserts were good; service was a bit harried with only 2 waiters and 3 full dining areas. My disappointment is that the food is not up to the standards of a few years past. Perhaps it's the challenges with running shorter hours for covid, but we had quite good meals here in the past and this did not measure up to memory
