This is one of my favorite hidden gems in the Algarve. It appears like an oasis on a lonely mountain road, a little square of yellow light against the blue dark. The food is inventive without losing its local roots; I particularly recommend the taco de atum and the beef dishes, along with pretty much any dessert.

Sadly there was no one in there and the food has stayed the same for 2 years so a bit bored with it! Huge menu so can’t all be fresh which is also a shame and sadly although we have frequented this place the boss never acknowledges us or even says hello! A good waiter who was helpful and charming but otherwise we wont be rushing back!

Their taster menu on a Sunday never disappoints. Just the right portions of well balanced and seasoned food. All dishes are nicely presented and food allergies noted. Lovely terrace and great that you can see the chef cooking.

Ugu was fantastic, very good with the kids and knows his football.fantastic experience all round.food was amazing and reasonably priced.

We'v had a delicious lunch. Nice menu with a good choice of fish, meat en vegetarian dishes. And don't forget the lemon pi with meringue. Mmmm

Always a pleasure to return to Raizes. We love the food, Portuguese but with a special touch. We love the interior of the restaurant. We love the high quality service. Just the perfect place to go for a super lunch, a relaxing super or the gourmet Sunday brunch.

Four of us ate at the restaurant. The atmosphere was great and all four of us agreed that the food was exceptionally good with its quality, presentation and taste. We will be back!

We have always liked the food at this restaurant but service is slow.

All 4 meals were cooked to perfection. Delicate flavours on shrimp risotto. Well cooked steaks, excellent chicken curry (requested more spice and our guest was delighted). A perfect venue.

Really nice food and some different / unusual options on the menu which was good. Would recommend this and will probably return before our holiday ends.

Their was very little atmosphere and the service was very poor. Food was ok but not outstanding. It was too expensive for what it was. The surroundings needed upgraded, tables and chairs outside made from wooden pallets doe not appeal to me.

2 people ordered steak, 1 got returned as it was cold, the other was blue and definitely not rare! The plate was taken then returned, clearly not cooked properly as the plate had been heated up resulting in the veg dried up! The waiter even argued about the steak! And I’m a cook ok! I know if a steak is cooked properly! And Sorry but as regular customers we expect far better service and there was no reduction on our bill. I can cook better at home, so very disappointed tonight

the place has seemingly gone downhill in the last year. we used to enjoy coming here but the level of service, food and ambiance have all declined. its a shame. with the outdoor season on hand, the landscaping in the planters outside consists of dried weeds.
