What a great restaurant! From the beginning the service was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was upmarket but relaxed. We had 4 small plates to start with, all excellent (the best patatas bravas we’ve ever had) followed by the cod and braised ox cheek, both cooked to perfection. The deserts were amazing, as was the desert wine! After dinner we were given a complimentary digestif at the cool little bar next door - meant to go back there but ran out of time… We can’t recommend RAO highly enough!

I went to RAO twice this week. The food was excellent and the service friendly and prompt. I highly recommend the cervasa, the scallops, the lamb, the chocolate couvant and the bread pudding. I have never tried sweetbreads but on the recommendation of my server I tried them. They were tender and delicious. Highly recommend. I intend returning on my next visit to Barcelona.

The service was excellent and the food delicious. I went for three tapas plates and I’d recommend all of them. I had the scallops with a mango-papaya chutney which was a wonderful pairing and then had the cod which was cooked to perfection. I also had the lamb terrine which was served with mint yogurt and cucumber harissa - again a wonderful combination. To finish I had the Parmesan and Manchego Flan which was a delicious and not too sweet cheesecake like texture. Throughout my meal the service was excellent - attentive but not intrusive.

After almost 2 weeks in Portugal and Spain, my husband and I found Rao to be THE best restaurant on our trip! The service is phenomenal, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. We tried the tomato bread, sea bass ceviche, duck breast, lamb, pork cheeks and the paella. Everything was delicious and so incredibly fresh! Recommend this local establishment 100%!!

I went to RAO 4 years ago and was very impressed with the food an service at the time. Went to RAO again last night and are very impressed again with food & service and surroundings. We felt very welcome and waiters was looking really well after us. I can only give me highest recommendation.
