We visited René & Maxime Meilleur – La Bouitte with high expectations. The restaurant is pleasant, the setting is beautiful, and the atmosphere is warm. The owner and the chef even came to our table, which was a very nice touch. But unfortunately, the price feels extremely high. I understand it’s a 2-Michelin-star restaurant, and I’m not new to Michelin places. When you pay this kind of money, you expect the food to be truly outstanding. Sadly, most of the dishes were not finished. And to make things worse, one of my friends found a hair in the dessert. In the end, the bill for six people was around €1,700. For that level of pricing, the overall experience should be flawless. The ambiance was very pleasant, and the hospitality was good, but the final impression was disappointing.

We were in Courchevel for a family ski holiday and had decided to treat ourselves to a Michelin 3 star dinner. We had read reviews for various restaurants and, while it involved a long taxi ride to get there, ended up selecting La Bouitte. The experience not only met but exceeded our expectations. While we expected beautifully presented and delectable food, we did not expect to be so filled by the end of the meal or for those of us with a gluten allergy to enjoy the absolute best gluten free bread we have ever tasted. We were also very grateful for how seamlessly the gluten allergies in our group were accommodated. Zero regrets and many wonderful memories from that evening.
