Great Sevice! Place not too stylish or cosy, while nice and comfortable. Food looks good but taste rather above the average, only beef was delicious. Please ask clients about paintings, for me it rather decrease overall impression of Johannes. Thank you!

+4Sublime! I ordered the 6 course meal (didn’t go for the 7 course because I could do without the cheese plate). Every dish was superbly balance in flavor, contrasting texture, visually stunning and simply delicious. Make sure you intend to spend over 3 hours for the full experience, I was there for over 3 hours from the amuse-bouche, also divine, to the dessert, it gave me time to thoroughly enjoy each dish and prepare for the next one. Make sure you reserve a table in advance.

The service was impeccable- the atmosphere and ambience was lovely- the food was outstanding- inventive, interesting combinations beautifully presented. Will definitely return- have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Restaurant Johannes.

great restaurant! we ordered 6 course dinner and it was outstanding. it is as good as any michelin one or two star restaurants but without the price. love this place. we will definitely come back if we are in the city again.

A really beautiful evening. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is lovely specially if you sit outside. Starters and main course were great. The wine pairingw me away. Quality is high but not mindblowing. Overall, definitely worth it.

+1The food and prices were great and the service was fast however the waiter didn't let us enjoy the restaurant and dining experience. As soon as we sit the exact moment without even look around he asked us what do we want to drink and direct us for a champagne or appetiser without giving us any menu or a drink menu. How can I choose what to drink without seeing what you are serving and how much? Also the water is another thing that bothered us. They served a 500ml opened bottled of tap water for 6eur. Why do I pay for tap water? They also don't have a wine menu for glass only for bottles. You cannot choose which wine you want to drink if you want glass. At the end, after we finish the dinner, they directly asked if we want the check but we wanted to stay a bit longer to digest. We didn't bothered much but it was a bit rude to ask to bring the check like they are pushing us out although half of the restaurant was empty.

We did the full taster menu and there wasn’t a dish which didn’t provide an almost unique experience. Genuinely some of the best food we’ve eaten. Superb!!

We wish we lived in Amsterdam so we could visit again. The meal and all its courses was as flavorful as it was a delight to the eye. It was a cultivated menu with sensitive and careful attention by the staff. The space is intimate but feels open and comfortable. Looking forward to a return visit.

World-class dining experience— not for those who are in a hurry, of course. We enjoyed the 5-course prix fixe, spread luxuriously across a 2-hour span. The additional “touch of gold” is that you can order distinct wines by the glass to go with every course at will. A wonderful evening.

We had the five-course tasting menu with wine pairing. We were surprised to find the restaurant empty. However, we were warmly welcomed. The pre-dinner appetizers were delicious, and all the courses were surprisingly tasty—except for the finale. Unfortunately, we found the cheese and dessert to be ordinary, uninventive, and not on the same level as the rest of the meal. A pity, because we loved the restaurant.

Very nice atmosphere and very attentive staff, comfortable seating and well decorated. The food was a bit flat and the ingredients were not mixed in a way that would surprise your senses, the dishes were only “ good” not up to the standard you would expect with such a nice presentation. But the worst of all, and the main reason why I give this punctuation, the dinner lasted for more than 3 hours. My blood circulation was begging me to stand up and move, I felt like kidnapped in my seat. We had time to begin to digest the food between dishes. I had the impression that because they have both a la carte and different tasting menus the kitchen was not able to prepare fast enough what they were offering. They have lots of potential but I think they could do much better if they’d stick to either a la carte or one or two tasting menu, Service was very nice, very professional and fast, they were doing very well. Thank you for that.
