4.5/10Great setting, but, as the only two diners all evening, it lacked the lively restaurant atmosphere. Service was fine. Unfortunately the quality food (fillet steak, tiger prawns) was ill prepared and overcooked…to the point of some items being charred. Not cheap. Didn’t bother with dessert. Feel sad that such an atmospheric environment couldn’t be matched by the food. Needs a rethink and better publicity/promotion. A couple of permanent resident neighbours had no idea there was a restaurant there.

+2Positives: nice area, motivated staff, quiet place. Negatives: Some food was tasty, some was not. Absolutely no brain: one of our group ended up in the hospital with diarrhoea after eating there. Suggestion: Please strengthen your hygiene and improve your food.

2/10We had requested a warm table inside but on arrival the restaurant was cold and empty so we didn't didn't stay to eat.

Thank you for your assessment. As I explained to you, we had just opened for dinners and turned on the hot air that only takes 5 minutes to heat the room. Hopefully next time, the room will already be quite hot for your taste.

3.5/10The food was terrible, but we were told the chef was off sick. Stunningly bad starters and an inedible beef steak. So make sure you check the chef is working before accepting the food.

10/10A most unusual place to eat but quite an experience being a very old convent of some 500 years old Food choice not extensive but catering for all and great to have vegetarian options among meat and fish dishes Food was of an exceptionally high standard and innovative in blends of flavour The only observation which perhaps the nice owners may wish to consider is the external roadside signage which could be enhanced particularly at night Thank you for welcoming us and for the attentive service of the maitre d’ Jonathan and Rachel Williams

5.5/10The restaurant is in a nice location in a restored old convent. The room inside is beautiful but was very warm so we decided to sit outside. The menu itself looks very interesting and creative. However the execution of the dishes was not good

+3We had a super evening at convent bio, the restaurant is so pretty and welcoming. We had super service, but unfortunately, we were the only guests in there that evening. The restaurant was extremely warm, there is no air-conditioning, understandably, but some fans would have been nice, the door was left open, but there was not much air that evening . The food was very good and beautifully presented.

9.5/10My family went to this restaurant having found it through The Fork. We were staying near Carvoeiro and jumped in an Uber to get there and back, which was really easy and inexpensive. . Set in an old convent, the simplicity of the surroundings and the lovely music in the background gave us the feeling that some of the standard touristy restaurants don’t. We had been hit by a dubious bill the night before and were looking for something completely different. This is a family run restaurant and the owners really care. The service was attentive and very thoughtful. Our food was a good standard and there were no nasty surprises. We came away feeling that we had chosen very well.

10/10The restaurant is housed in an old monastery which gives it a special ambience. The dishes as devised by a French chef are varied and tastefully prepared. The table service is correct and pleasant. In other words: a restaurant that is definitely worth a visit!

We had the most amazing evening! The service was outstanding,we couldn’t have been looked after any better.The attention to detail was incredible. The food was so delicious,we ended up eating far too much as it was all so amazing! The wine and beer was also fabulous. Would highly recommend Convent Bio,we will be back soon !

8.5/10The chapel where the restaurant functions is absolutely beautiful and we're told its history upon arrival, which is very interesting. The couvert was exceptional, desserts were also quite good, but the main dishes were just ok.

9/10Excellent atmosphere ,the maitre D is very welcoming and efficient ,very good service .the background music should be slightly turn down .the quality of the plates is good and clear as it is totaly organic .nothing pretentious .exczlentvbut small selection of wines .the slight desapointment is that the duck should be coock rose instead of well done .a great discovery in an unique idem gem .prices are reasonables.i strongly recomand it .
