Good food, great service and overall value for money

We have been living in Lagos for eight years , but haven’t been to Onda Norte until now! It’s a real gem !

Visited twice recently and we were pleased with the food, service, ambiance and pricing. The steaks are delicious and portion size is good. Waiting time for food was minimal. Staff are also very smiley and attentive. We will definitely be visiting again 😊

Our second visit during this trip and Vinny remembered us from the first time. Excellent choice of food, reasonably priced and we were looked after well. House wine was very drinkable and again reasonably priced so everyone enjoyed the experience.

We enjoyed our dinner at Onda Norte. We had the fish soup and calamari as appetizer, the sea bream and steak and sausage plate for main, and the cheesecake and Bolo de Bolacha for dessert. The appetizers and the main were good, we finished everything, but they were not particularly special or memorable. The steak plate came with rice and beans, and the rice was the highlight. Also memorable were the desserts, both were excellent. I’m picky in my cheesecakes, and this one was so far the best I have tried in Portugal. Bolo de Bolacha is a Portuguese dessert, a biscuit cake with coffee, buttercream, and caramel. I can get used to eating that regularly! The service was another highlight. Our server was very pleasant, informative, and efficient. It is rare to find that combination. Overall we really enjoyed the experience. The prices were very fair, I get the impression that this is a place more popular with locals rather than tourists.

All staff were very pleasant & welcoming. The waitress was very attentive as I was dining alone. The menu was very good & food was great, I had porco preta. Will definitely eat here again

We were a party of eight. The service was very good. Food was just like a home cooked meal. And very affordable. Wine was lovely and not expensive. We enjoyed it so much we went back again during our visit to Lagos.

Very good experience at Onda Norte. The restaurant offers places inside or outside the structure. The dinner was very good (Picanha and Posta à Mirandesa). The service is excellent. Typical portuguese cuisine. Thanks again for the kind service.

We went to this restaurant in June twice and we had fantastic meals and great service unfortunately in August I went back with all my family and it was a disaster we left before we had finished and definitely won’t go back in the high season. They do not have enough staff two people serving and no one on the bar and the food was pre-cooked. My partner waited 30 minutes for her main course of PORK skewers but by then we were all finished ours and hers was undercooked and red in the middle. This is a small report of what could be a lengthy complaint. Don’t go in high season.

We waited over 2 hours for our food with little communication as to why it was taking so long. The food itself was not made to our liking so we quickly left.

what a great place. I came with my wife and two young children. The staff were fantastic, they made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend this place especially if you have children.

Onda Norte is situated outside the old town walls so a little off the tourist beaten track. It’s a little gem of a Portuguese restaurant where the locals also choose to eat. Prices are very reasonable and the service warm & friendly. Highly recommend.

Lovely service. Fish and shrimp did not taste fresh. Beef was tender. Peppercorn sauce too thick.

Everything great. Had garlic prawns and than posta mirandesa. Very tasty. Strongly recomend!
