An imaginative chef had to be behind this parador’s curtain…presentation, seasoning, quality ingredients…all top notch!!

We had a lovely meal. Melon soup. Shared salad. Ribs. Sea bass. All were well prepared and the service was very good. The dining room could use a little character, it felt a little institutional, which was surprising in such a lovely hotel with such a a rich history and beautiful interior details.

Excellent choice of local Asturian dishes served really well. Lovely ambience throughout. An amazing building which is worth arriving for early and taking a look around, as we did. Pre dinner drinks in the courtyard which is really atmospheric. The Asturian cheese platter as a starter was interesting and tasty, with the bean and monkfish stew quite stunning. Excellent service and acceptable pricing for a restaurant of this type.

The hotel itself is stunning, but the restaurant, in terms of furniture (canteen style) and decor (walls were peeling) has the feel of having been done on the cheap and poorly maintained. Service was generally good despite the fact that no-one seemed to be overseeing proceedings. However, whilst a high markup is to be expected to a certain extent, 14 euros for a starter of tomatoes and what looked suspiciously like tinned fish was beyond the pale. At present this restaurant does not square with the rest of the hotel either in terms of appearance or value for money.

No problems- at all. If we had to comment about anything I'd say that the decor could be more condusive to our surroundings. Not at all as great as the rest of the abbey. The restaurant could have been anywhere, in any modern hotel instead of an historic building. Apart from that small observation the food was delicious and I would just love love love the recipe for the apple vichyssoise.

Good service this evening, no long waiting time as the next evening, to take up our order!

Sometimes it took a long time between arriving and taking up the order, especially when there were many guests. For the rest the service was excellent.
