10/10We had a lovely meal here, service was excellent, its a family run restaurant and they take great pride in their food and service. We would definitely return when back in Ortigia.

10/10Lovely restaurant with delicious food, good local wines and homemade bread. The friendly, attentive staff accommodated our large party at the last minute on a busy Saturday evening and really looked after us well. Wonderful, relaxing evening!

Excellent food and service! Wish we had gone earlier in our trip so we could go back a second time! This was the best meal we had in Ortigia. We had the mushroom avocado cheese appetizer And a pasta with tomato and zucchini strips and the fried mixed seafood plate. All the food was excellent as well as the service.

10/10The entire meal was outstanding. The owners are a couple and the wife runs the dining room while the husband is the chef. She was so gracious and fun to talk to,plus our dinner was delicious!

Thank you for finding time to review us ,you haven’t been charged for anything more trhat you had,you paid for the cover charge as it’s used in all Italy,plus we didn’t charge your little girls cover and her ice cream was offered and also a treat to the three of you with a local liquor.Best regards.

10/10The restaurant was perfect. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. They were very accommodating with out kids and offered to serve a simple pasta for them. We highly recommended!

10/10One of the best meals I've ever had. Smoked tuna on mango was unbelievably tasty. Seafood pasta was super flavoursome with plenty of seafood. Great selection of sicilian wines. Excellent service ,with a lot of patience and helpful advices. Do not miss the opportunity to dine at Retroscena!

10/10Short walk from Fontana di Diana. Nice ambiance with excellent and welcoming service. Delicious dishes with homemade pastas, bread, and fresh fish. Lasagna with meat sauce and tortell with artichoke cream sauce were outstanding. Best options also on daily specials like swordfish Siciliano. Highly recommend; best to reserve in advance.

9.5/10We were very taken with this small restaurant and ended up coming back two nights later. All the dishes we had were very tasty, and well-prepared. The server was the wife of the chef and was wonderful with her suggestions and attention to us all evening, even though she had several other large tables. We sat outside both evenings, but the interior is charming and inviting. We would recommend it to anyone who loves seafood done with skill and imagination.

10/10Delicious food in a beautiful setting off the beaten path. Menu includes many unique dishes not typically found at other Sicilian restaurants, featuring plenty of local fruit and nuts. We particularly enjoyed the salad with sliced peaches, almonds, avocado and fresh caprino cheese, which was remarkable as we don't usually enjoy goat cheese. Highly recommend!

10/10We loved our experience. Wonderful food , service and outdoor table on a quiet side street. Our waitress, the owner, was so charming and warm that it was an added delight. We tried the ravioli special which was superb, but all the food was delicious. Thank you so much!!!

9/10This is a lovely little restaurant. The owner was lovely and food was delicious. The decor was pretty. I had sea bream with a lemon sauce and my husband had the tuna which was very fresh and prepared rare. It was excellent. Our appetizers were ravioli with a cream sauce and bacon and a Cocette of avacado mushrooms and Gorgonzola. It is pretty small and about a half hour after we arrived a group of 10 young women arrived and were seated in the middle of the restaurant. They were all you could hear after that. Definitely not a place for a large group. I am not sure if it was the usual custom or to make up for the noise, we were given a shot of Siramusa, the limoncello like liqueur of the area with our check. I would recommend going here.

9/10Beautiful, small restaurant with a warm welcome. They professionally accommodated our request to share dishes. Two of the dishes were daily specials: an incredible, large salad with strawberries, avocado and ricotta; and a lovely ravioli with a creamy sauce with figs. Both these dishes were beautifully presented, and exceptional. We also had the roast octopus from the regular menu. It was nicely seasoned, but it was the toughest, chewiest octopus I have ever eaten. I would go back, just not for octopus. I'd like to try the pastas.

Wow! Loved the sheep atmosphere in this adorable restaurant! But the pastas were the show stoppers! Incredible flavors and presentation. Ladies, starters are big enough for a full course! The grilled octopus and sea bream were very good but the pastas….wow! We had the Carvaglio Infatata wine with our meal which was smooth and delicious! Great place for foodies!

The food was outstanding, The menu is extensive and gives you many options. Our hostess was friendly and very helpful. We had a great time and will be returning in the future.
