8/10We had a great dinner here: attentive service ; well cooked interesting food. Only slight niggle really was the turbot was rather small but also slightly under cooked ( in a kind of light breadcrumbed “batter”. ) and this just let the meal down a little. Otherwise lovely - nice outside table ; and welcomed with glasses of Prosecco : really nice touch.

2.5/10We had high expectations for the restaurant, but we’re sincerely disappointed… The salad was unremarkable and made up largely of tomatoes that were inedible due to their waxy taste, and white appearance The eggplant Parmesan was very poorly prepared with a moderate amount of eggplant and way too much ( what tasted to us) as poor quality cheese and tasteless tomato sauce The atmosphere was uninviting with large ceiling lights shining down to cover each table …therefore providing a less than appealing or cozy environment… I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience

9/10Dined at this restaurant based on excellent reviews. Welcomed with a glass of prosecco and amuse bouche. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the waiter was attentive and friendly. Took one star off for food as menu may be improved by additional meat option. Would recommend.

10/10This is a serious restaurant. The small menu is very well thought out, as is the wine list. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. What's more, the service is excellent. I can highly recommend Al Corso!

9.5/10The server was amazing with so many tables to serve in his own he did not miss a beat. Kind and courteous. The fish of the evening was fresh and tasty and the risotto was delicious. Would go back again.

10/10This was a wonderful find in Lucca and we went twice. On a street lined with flowers, this was a quiet place with excellent choice and a waiter with good knowledge of wines. The cover charge included a nice selection of breads and a glass of prosecco, The food was excellent. - two we recall were frittura di Mare and Parmigiana di Melanz (egg plant).

9.5/10We went here with the family of four for 2nd Christmas day. It was very quiet and in fact many Italian restaurants do not even open on these days. The food was excellent and the owner very friendly, explaining the wines and starting with a free prosecco and appetizer and homebaked bread. We had the seafood risotto and fiorentina steak (2p) and squid steak. Highly recommended

9/10The food here is seriously amazing. My cuttle fish ink pasta was the best I have ever eaten in my life. The service was great. Not rushed & friendly. The bread basket was a thing of beauty - 4 different home made breads with luscious olive oil. The only thing I would change is the lighting. Beautiful lights but too bright. This was a real find. We had bread, 2 courses & a bottle of wine. We were brought a glass of fizz & an amuse boucle for free. It came to €105. I'm wondering if I can fit in another visit before we leave!

9.5/10We had the seafood risotto and a fritto misto, which we paired with a refreshing glass of Chardonnay from Trentino. Both dishes were nicely done with good, fresh ingredients. Also, a great variety of delicious homemade breads. The owner is friendly and attentive. Good value for money and highly recommended!

9.5/10A charming and intimate spot only very slightly off the main laneways but worth the effort. Nice touches such as a Prosecco on arrival and an amuse bouche to start. An interesting and very tasty seafood focused menu all topped off by attentive and friendly staff.

10/10This restaurant is excellent. The service is both friendly and professional. They greeted us with a glass of prosecco and our table for 5 was outside with with tablecloths on a beautiful Autumn evening. The food is a picture on a plate and tasted as good as it looked. We asked for a local wine and were given the nicest white wine of our trip.

10/10Family ranging from 12-78. Out best meal of the holiday. Fabulously interactive chef that made the dishes come to life! Really happy to slightly adapt for our youngest who doesn’t like too much spice. Absolute pleasure!

10/10We had a lovely dinner here, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff very kind. The food was of a high standard, with some nice touches such as a glass of Prosecco on arrival, amuse bouche at the start and petit four at the end of the meal. Very good value for money. Grazie!

10/10We booked at short notice and were delighted with our choice. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was both delicious and beautifully presented. It was also a lovely surprise to receive little added extras such as a welcome glass of prosecco accompanied by a small canapé and, at the end of the meal, a chocolate. It was excellent value and we would certainly visit again if we return to Lucca.

9.5/10One of the best meals we have had in Italy on this trip and we have been to several foodie restaurants across 2 regions renowned for their cuisine. The octopus appetizer was grilled to perfection, not chewy at all. My spouse had the poached egg with truffle - they were perfectly paired. The mains (I had the fish of the day and my spouse had the shrimp gnocchi) were equally exceptionally executed. Definitely on our list of places to return to.

10/10This restaurant was EXCELLENT. From the time we walked in the service was 5 star!! The ambiance and the little details were thoughtful and made us feel special. Food was very well presented, tasty and delicious. Al Corso is a gem- you will be delighted!

5/10Waiter very engaging and set high expectations. Reality was all dishes we had were bland and ‘run of the mill’ at best. Many other options that offer much better food in Lucca.
