7/10I’ve been going to this restaurant for many years and my last experience was not at the level that Giovanni is known for. I would definitely go back before taking it off my list. Anyone can have a bad night.

6/10The location and view of isola Bella from the restaurant was magnificent, but the internal lighting was too bright making the ambience not as good. My fish of the day was excellent but my husband’s risotto had two undercooked prawns on the top which we sent back. The rose wine from Etna was very good and the service on the whole was not bad although slightly too quick. The staff were polite and did order a taxi for us a taxi when we finished.

7.5/10Service was great, very prompt and professional. We ordered steak and spaghetti with lobster. Lobster was overcooked, but the spaghetti that came with it was phenomenal. Ambiance, feels like you’re in a dining hall. Lights are all the way up. Once the sun sets you can only see your reflection in the glass in front of you. I’d recommend dining here before sunset, but never after.

5.5/10Food ok but nothing special. Poor tiramisu. We were given a nice table by the window overlooking Isola Bella but ambience was spoiled by harsh lighting and 'live entertainment'. Service rude- they couldn't wait for us to leave , possibly because we only ordered a light meal.

10/10The view, the service and the food was all exceptional. Best Italian meal I've had 👏 You can't go wrong if you order the octopus or the scampi pasta - so much so, I got the octopus again for dessert! Hats off to the team here

5.5/10Staff very welcoming on arrival. Lovely table with perfect view. I said when I ordered that I didn't want main course quickly. Bread supplied but very hard. First course was good and I repeated desire to eat slowly. Then waiter asked if I was ready and I said not yet. When I did ask for main course it arrived immediately. The fish was very dry and had obviously been kept hot. I was offered a dessert on the house. Altogether quite disappointing as the prices are quite high. However the wine was actually very cheap.
