10/10The food and plating is exceptional, this restaurant is a hidden gem away from the high streets and the archaeological site so it’s very non-touristy. Definitely recommend to anyone who are looking for a fine dining experience after a long day in Pompei!

8.5/10Good food, good service, what would you expect from a fine dining experience. A bit cold in the location and the photographer kept leaving the door open and it was cold inside. Also I got a degustation menu and my gf got an a la carte option and they served us both the same thing which was a bit lazy on their part.

8/10We ordered the blind tasting menu and we were both very happy with that. The quality of food was excellent, the amuse bouche was nice, the artichoke dish as an appetiser was incredible and I'd go back just for that. Really liked the pasta which seemed to have some sort of bisque, my husband not as much. The pork main was really good. We were both a little disappointed with the banana/peanut dessert. We had matching wines also that were lovely. Disappointed that they told us AFTER the meal that the fork 20% off discount didn't apply to the degustation menu, which was most disappointing and felt a little deceptive considering we could have saved 44 euros on that meal. Perhaps it should have been mentioned when we were ordering. Incidentally they bought up the discount, we didnt, so they were fully aware that we would expect the 20% off. Definitely put a damper on the evening.

10/10The food, presentation, and service were excellent. - The finest dinner we had in our week in the area. The waiter selected excellent wine. The chef modified some dishes to accommodate my partner's allergies. If you are looking for a fine dining experience in Pompeii, go here.

10/10I'm SO HAPPY we found Il Principe. There were very few restaurant openings, and we are so lucky we chose this one to celebrate my birthday. The food was insanely good, so special and unique, and the service was outstanding. Every dish had a story that was tied to the culture and history of Pompeii, and everything was delicious. What an experience!!

10/10This restaurant is a real gem. The dishes are works of art both in flavors to excite the senses and also in presentation and beautiful flatware used. The service was excellent even though the dining room was a bit under staffed. Even the chef came out to help a bit. The venue is well designed and very pleasant to spend time in. I would describe it as more of a contemporary design. They definitely deserve a Michelin star but for the moment are only Michelin rated. I do hope they get a star.

8.5/10My boyfriend and I had been in Italy for 8 days already and this was by far the best food we’d eaten. Every course was exceptional and the wine pairing was great. Unfortunately we were the only couple in the restaurant for at least 40 minutes at the start of the meal which made the environment very intense with the waiter but he was very helpful and the food was sublime. Highly highly recommend to anyone visiting Pompeii.

9.5/10Gave 4/5 for atmosphere simply because we were the only ones in the restaurant. It was off season, and not exactly a fault of the restaurant, but still felt strange. Food and service were great. We would definitely come back.

10/10The chef is both ambitious and competent. Contemporary decor in the room and world influences in his food. Well-balanced flavours, creative plate arrangements. All in all, clearly a Michelin star contender. Highly recommended.

10/10Great food, very sophisticated yet satisfying cuisine, each dish has a story behind it and tastes amazing! The restaurant is beautiful, elegant And tasteful interior. Staff is well prepared, friendly and caring. It seemed like we were dining at a Michelin star restaurant. Well done!

10/10Amazing quality at this modern Pompeii restaurant. First of all the setting is more of a wide home dining area with bookshelves and comfortable leather sofas. I must say that when you are given a table bag holder as a lady, the restaurant is already starting on a high note for me. Such attentiveness is scarce these days. Food wise I was really enthusiastic for my grano arso starter with raw tuna and guacamole followed by a fresh squid and prawns zuppetta. Chef makes everything in-house and it shows, the flour 1 grade bread was exceptional. Service was also of a high standard, kind and attentive, present but not overpowering. Certainly a place to visit again! Highly recommended

9.5/10One of the best meals I have had at a restaurant. The food was delicious. The service was a little slow at times. I have added this restaurant to my “favorites” list. I highly recommend it and will eat here again when I visit Pompei.

8.5/10The quality of the food was excellent. Very sophisticated plates with surprising twists (chips of plankton). However if you’re a somewhat of a big eater and didn’t order the 5 or 7 course menu it could be not to much. The service was excellent with the chef serving and explaining the dishes together with two interns very well. Clearing the table was a bit to fast for my taste; when a plate was finished the plate was immediately. removed. Besides this we had an excellent experience at a (for Italy) decent price/quality ratio.

9.5/10My wife and I had a 5 course tasting menu which they adjusted for each of us (she is not a fish lover). The food and the service were excellent. Worth a visit!

9.5/10Exquisite food. Friendly helpful staff passionate about their cuisine.. Our daughters age 12 & 14 loved the experience including the amuse Bouche. The surprise desert was fun. Bill for 4 including bottle of wine, 2 courses for children, 3 courses for adults was 124 Euros. Good value for outstanding food.
