6.5/10We arrived and were seated in the front window facing the Duomo which was lovely. We asked about the steak and the waiter didn’t explain any cuts of meat and told us there was a minimum weight we had to order which we went ahead and did. He then came back with a piece of meat over our desired weight and it sounded to us like it was this one or nothing so we went ahead. The steak and potatoes were delicious. After that we finished our drinks and had to sit there for another 30 mins despite asking constantly for the bill. We even asked the Manager. Finally he came over with a verbal apology and limoncello which felt like an insult. It was a shame as it ruined the experience and I wouldn’t come back or recommend. We went for a walk around the corner and other restaurants were serving the same meats for far cheaper. It’s worth walking walking around first although the square’s view is a key feature..

8.5/10Beautiful setting. Great decorum Service is tops Wish there was an option for a porterhouse steak/ ribeye / rump on a smaller scale than the big T bone but i did not see such option on the menu Steak was good though and cooked to perfection. It was still a great experience.

10/10Today we had the Spanish Gallizio Beef as Bistecca Fiorentina and it was even better than the Chianina, what was hard to believe. What an experience! Thanks to the excellent service as well, a great memory for all of us after visiting Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi!

6/10More of a fine dining restaurant than authentic food, the view of the duomo was blocked by construction, food was nice but small portions and brought out within minutes of ordering. Probably wouldn’t go again but also wouldn’t complain

7/10The location was great! However, staff were just okay. Some nicer some not as nice. They gave table next to us Prosecco on a house as soon as they came in - we came in 2 minutes before them and never got it! We thought it might be due to the fact that we booked it via “the fork” app which should nit be happening. Also, air-con was blasting on us and when I asked for another table they did not reallocate us

10/10Really great experience. We were a little concerned as the restaurant is in the main square so maybe the food would suffer, but we read the other reviews and decided to go for it. Food and service were both excellent. Pasta course and meat course were both outstanding. View from our table was amazing.

5/10The restaurant is located in a great location. The food was average at best. The steak did not have much flavor and it tasted like it was cooked on a dirty gas grill. We overpaid for subpar food. This is a tourist trap.

6.5/10Servers were outstanding, both in knowledge, presentation, and friendly. Timely efficient service between courses. Beautiful view, nice climate, music too loud. One beef dish had too much gristle, but was prepared temperature as requested. The steak florentine unfortunately was slightly over cooked. Zucchini, risotto, potatoes were delicious. Pricing was fair, nice discount offered for early reservations.

6/10The staff are great and the food was pretty good. And staff were responsive. This restaurant has open windows facing the Duomo in Florence. When we arrived they were playing loud American music-Donna Summer, Rock etc…. I don’t come to Florence to hear that. I asked for softer Italian music and they st least turned down the volume. I appreciate the need to serve clientele but this visitor comes to Italy for everything authentically Italian.

6.5/10It felt very high pressure sales with the steak. They even wear shirts that say steak dealer on the back. It felt very much like that. The food was average, but by far the most expensive meal we had in Italy during our ten day stay. It really bummed me out.

7/10La Cupola is billed as a Steakhouse- thus I expect their steaks to be excellent- especially a signature dish like Bistecca alla Florentina. We picked the steak that was billed as the best on the menu. The steak was cooked as requested- medium rare and it was grilled to medium rare. This steak however was tough- more like a flank steak. It was tough enough even my steak knife took up to 10 slices to get thru the meat- and more chewing to add to the effort. On the plus side the steak was well flavored. Overall the Bistecca needs to be a better piece of meat than presented.
