Food was okay for a tourist restaurants. Aggressively hit up Americans for a tip. First I have seen in my two weeks here. That alone I will not go back.

My wife and I were in the mood for gnocchi which we hadn't had yet in Sicily so I looked up which restaurant in Taormina had good gnocchi and found Ristorante Piazza Badia (aka Pizzeria Badia). My wife had the standard Gnocchi Sorrentina and I got the Gnocchi Gorgenzola. Both were delicious. Although I love gorgenzola, I think I actually like my wife's Sorrentina a bit better. But both were very good and would recommend if you are looking for Gnocchi. Atmosphere was with a view of the church and the plaza but far enough off the main part of the street to feel calm and private. A music group came and played a couple of traditional songs for us which was nice and added to the evening.

The menu offered a huge choice. We had Risotto Verdura and a big tuna salad. Both were delicious. We had a half carafe of red wine which was fine but a bit pricey at 12.5 euros. When we were given the bill, we were also given a small shot of tasty almond wine which was a very nice gesture. We sat on the terrace. Service was very good but I do wish the waiter hadn’t taken my plate while I still had a mouthful of food. Made me feel as if I was being rushed out!

We had a great meal! I had the pizza Norma and my husband had seafood linguine. The servers were very busy but did a great job!

We were in Taormina last week and ate st RPBadia twice. We wanted to have the choice or either pizza or pasta & both were fantastic. There are other option on the menu which looked good but we didn’t try any. Lovely staff & service & nice ambience. Highly recommend

This was a nicely located restaurant but the service is sooo slow! Despite having a reservation, we ended up not being seated right away and then when we were, it took about an hour for us to get our food (which was just pizza and pasta). The staff were nice but I wouldn't go back because of slow service.

Once we received our food, it was good. We order a starter of caponata, followed by pizza and a mixed green salad. We really liked the crust on the pizza. I have to mark this place down, though, because of service. Even though it was not crowded when we arrived, the server who took our order was distracted and forgot about us -- I understand having to wait for the food to be prepared, but we didn't even get water or wine. After 20 minutes, we asked someone else, who brought it and then checked on our food.

Great service tasty food and large portions , not able to get much past the Primi as we were already full. Great value with the fork deal. We would go again
