9.5/10Wonderful setting excellent ambience. Very busy. Even with booking had to queue up. Not sure booking made any difference. Good food good wine.

2/10Accepted a booking and didn’t honour it. Kept people waiting for more than 30 mins and seemed totally unconcerned. Victims of their own success. If you can’t satisfy a booking in good time, don’t accept it, or explain there will be a delay.

4.5/10Poor from the start and throughout. Booked a table but still hand to wait in a line with those who didn’t have bookings. Sat near the waiter station where I could see how rude and obnoxious staff were, chucking down menus, rolling their eyes when I asked for a napkin to balance the table, wasn’t given bread like other tables, the staff were so unorganised or just didn’t care. Finally the food was average, came out extremely quick and you could tell why, rushed and lacked any flavour. I read a previous comment where the poster thought good reviews were related to the cooking classes, that definitely seems the case.

9/10loverly food and restaurant was very busy. Had to ask to get served as serving staff were so busy. We didn't get asked if we needed anything and we were left alone. This would be because how busy the restaurant was at the time.

5/10Our first visit was amazing, a busy and vibrant, staff were engaging, service and food were amazing, a real gem. We went back in Sunday evening, zero ambiance, staff were like inattentive & uninterested. we had to ask for menus, no chat or interaction from the waiters and we had to ask for the bill even when our plates hadn’t been cleared, no offer of dessert. If Sunday had been my first visit I definitely wouldn’t go back.

10/10The server was aswesome, the atmosphere was great and the table we were sat at was smack in the middle, making the whole experience unforgettable. The tortellini with trufle and shrimp (ask for a little spiciness) were absolutely divine.

10/10We saw this restaurant had a good rating on Google Maps and it didn’t disappoint. It was the best meal we had in Taormina by a country mile. Great atmosphere and wonderful food.

We had an absolutely terrible experience at Porta Messina. Despite our reservations, we had to wait 15 mins to get a table. Subsequently waited another 20 mins to give the order, 30 mins for the appetizers to arrive and over 1 hour for the main course. Waiters simply ignored us the entire time. The crew is engaged with the cooking class and doesn’t really care about the customers in the dining section. This was our worst dining experience in Italy. We should have left in the beginning after noticing the ordeal. Not coming back to this tourist trap.

8.5/10The food was very good, reasonably priced, but not outstanding. Servers were very polite, however, they had many tables to take care of, so they weren’t able to attend to all our needs on a timely basis. A very good experience overall.

8/10i made a reservation for a special occasion (my partner’s birthday), but when we arrived, the waiters didn’t check or acknowledge it. despite this, the table beside us received a happy birthday candle. disappointed.

9/10Our group of 7 spent our last night in Sicily at this festive, inviting restaurant. The staff were attentive and the atmosphere is lively and festive. The menu includes toward palatable Americanized choices such as spaghetti and meatballs, and Tito's Vodka. All our dishes were prepared well and food was delicious.

2.5/10It was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. Service was terrible. Main course came out 30 minutes apart and the pizza was cold and burned. There were other guests visibly unhappy around us as well. The reason why their reviews are so high is because they have their weight staff encourage the customer to submit a review at the table.

9.5/10We dined at this restaurant a couple of times during our recent visit to Taormina. The location is great and there are often people waiting to get in (7/7:30 starts to get busy). The food is really good and fairly priced. The mussels and several of the pasta dishes are great. We took cannoli making and pizza making classes here, as well. They were a blast !!! Shout out to Jackie/Francesca who is a fun-loving, patient, and expert cooking instructor. This place is well worth the visit !

Restaurant is a tourist trap, many fake profiles here and very expensive for the quality. It was very disappointing tonight, one of the lowest in Sicily. Tomato without flavor, ultra salty pasta. Sorry but I do not recommend tourists to go there. There are others much better in Taormina. 3 songs and it's over
