Great quality / price in a pleasant environment

It was a very cold night. We were taken to a table in a dark, remote corner. I asked if was warm.... No response. The food arrived quickly enough, but was plonked on the table, without a word. Didn't have time to complain about how cold we were. The main course, looked and tasted like a supermarket ready meal. The dessert arrived silently, nobody asked if we were OK. Ditto the bill. As we got up to leave, they turned on a nearby heater. Left no tip. Won't be going back, or recommending it.....Quite the opposite.

Superb menu - not the "standard Portuguese" offering. eg. I had Duck with orange sauce. Brilliantly executed. Plentiful portions. Reasonably priced. I notice other recent reviews complained about the service. We found them to be fast & efficient while still being polite. Yes, they didn't spend hours schmoozing the guests - but we didn't want to take 3hrs over dinner either. It's a large restaurant, and was still busy on a Wednesday evening, late October. Draw you own conclusions...

Last night was my second time dining at Sabores do Campo, although this time I dined alone as my friends had returned home a few days earlier. I ordered the Seabass a second time and enjoyed it even more as I was not overly full from indulging in appetizers and other dishes as I had the first time. The fish was done perfectly and the accompanying vegetables were savoury and delicious! The wine recommendation went perfectly as well.

We really enjoyed our dinner and the service was superb. They managed a full restaurant efficiently and quickly. We had delicious wine and the presentation of everything was stunning. However, the room was dated and two of our three main course dinners came with the same sauce, vegetable and plate presentation, which seemed a bit strange. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back.

If you want choice, don't go at lunch time. Today it was chicken or fish, no menu options. Also, they brought out our "choice" before we'd had much of our appetiser. On the plus side it was cheap

It is a place of excelence on portuguese cuisine. Try the fig and almond ice cream desert, unique!

One of our favourite restaurants which never disappoints for quality of food, excellent service and a outstanding wine list. Depending on the season, you have the choice of indoor or outdoor dining. Lunchtime, it offers prato do dia dishes with a choice of meat or fish dish and a salad in summer. In the evenings, there is a more comprehensive choice of menu. Yes, the restaurant is a little bit more expensive than others locally but it's a cut above the average in all aspects and well worth it. I always reserve a table with the fork because not surprisingly, it gets busy. My one criticism is the parking spaces. Directly outside is OK but left and right of the restaurant, it is bumpy, uneven and difficult to park.

Nice atmosphere tonight with the log fire but I b and music in the background. Not sold out, but busy enough to have a lively and enjoyable evening.

Great place friendly staff and good value for money

Lovely local restaurant hiding on a side street northwest of the town. Recommended by our air bnb host and open on Wed night! Made a reservation online and had a 7 pm delicious meal! Fun also observing a large family gathering celebrating ! Quiet, clean and excellent service!

Food was not good. Starters were fries and with it came a lemon that was there. For a few days already. The main was not the worst but had lack of passion. The staff serving ithat night was really bad. They didn’t pay attention and looked grumpy. The atmosphere was bad. I expected more of this place after reading other reviews.

We stayed locally to this restaurant for 10 days and it was recommended to us by our host. We visited twice as we enjoyed it so much the first time. The food was delicious, our favourites being the shrimp to start and the wild pig for main. They have an excellent selection of wines also. For me the best thing about this restaurant, and the reason we visited twice, was the staff. The waiters were excellent. They were very attentive, polite, conversational and I felt genuinely wanted is to have an enjoyable time. We hope to be back in Portugal in the future and if so we will definitely be back to dine again.

We were nicely welcomed and given a comfortable table. Menu was nice, starters were delicious. Main courses were very disappointing, especially the Wild boar stew. It was dry and not pleasant to eat. I gave my opinion on the dish to the waiter after which he ignored us. I would bky

Excellent lunch. We had booked late and were not expected but once that was sorted the four of us were looked after well by friendly staff. We would happily eat at Sabores de Campo again.

We had a wonderful evening... food was excellent and well presented. Service was attentive without being intrusive.. We have placed this restaurant within our top places to go to for lunch and evening meals.. Staff were lovely and very friendly..

We have been coming to this restaurant since it first opened many years ago. Never disappointed. Food quality excellent. Best wine selection around and owners and staff have a good knowledge and always enjoy their recommendations. Never like recommending restaurants to friends because they all have different tastes but don’t think you would be disappointed after an evening at Sabores
