10/10A little restaurant about a 25 minute walk from the main tourist area of Sintra. Absolutely worth the trip. The food was wonderful with the mushroom risotto being the highlight. The thoughtful wine pairing and friendly service enhanced the experience. A must visit restaurant

10/10An extraordinary meal and dining experience. We left wondering why this restaurant did not have a Michelin Star considering it was significantly better than some of the Michelin restaurants we have dined at in the Lisbon/Sintra area. Philipe our server was extremely knowledgable made great meal and pairing suggestions, explained in detail each course and overall provided a level of service deserving of special recognition. Was simply put a perfect evening!

10/10We had such a lovely experience at Sabores do Mercado today. Everything was delicious, especially the mushroom risotto and the octopus. Felipe was also very knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Best meal we’ve had in Portugal so far!

10/10It was the best meal that we had in Portugal and we have eaten at some amazing restaurants during the week we were here.. The service was amazing. Recommend letting them choose the wine, as their knowledge of the local wine is great

9.5/10We attended Sabores de Mercado for a late lunch after walking through parks and palaces in Sintra, and it was the perfect cap to our day out. I would recommend making a reservation on the Fork as it’s a touch smaller. However, its size allows for an intimate experience and excellent service. The interiors feel cozy. We split the tomato bruschetta, and amazingly all of the ingredients used were local. The flavor did not disappoint, and it was served warm which I welcomed. It had the right balance of acidity from the tomatoes, and savory spice from the micro basil used. Next came a spider octopus confit, and the cod. The cod was delicious. The spider octopus was so soft, due to the expert cooking and that it is a local variety that is caught near Sintra. The flavor was unbelievably savory, and it was not overly salty either. If you are debating on whether or not to get it, I would suggest getting it. For dessert, we had the brownie with a yogurt cream — which again had a great balance of rich chocolate, and something sharp to cut through. For the entire menu, our host provided and suggested wine pairings by the glass, and the pairings did not disappoint. Overall, I would highly recommend making a stop at Sabores de Mercado.

10/10From the moment we entered the restaurant until the moment we left, we were so impressed!! Service, wine suggestions/pairings and entrees were superb. Novel flavours and connection with our server made the meal and experience something we want to revisit every time we come to Portugal!! 10/10The food was delicious. We hat the goat cheese bruschetta, the lasagna, and the mushroom risotto. Each serving was paired with a wine suggested by Phillip, our very attentive waiter. We couldn’t finish, we were so full and I was sad to leave food on my plate. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Sintra. It is fairly small, so be sure to make a reservation.

5.5/10The food was good and the decor was cosy and stylish . However the service was very pressured . We did not like being told that they would be choosing the wine for us and then going through quite a difficult and overly long process to arrive at one that was ok and that the waiter thought was acceptable for us to order . Also did not like having to use our phones to access the menu and that the wine list gave no description whatsoever of the wine on it leaving us totally in the hands of the waiter . The waiter probably meant well but we found the experience rather ridiculous and uncomfortable

Without intending to be evasive, the choice of wines for the food pairing is very important to us, since there is a variety of labels and Portuguese grapes, most of the time, unknown by customers. Also, our wine selection changes every month, that’s why it’s a digital wine list. 10/10The service was attentive. Good informative welcome and knowledgeable advice concerning the pairings. The quality of the food and wines was very good; my wife and I shared a mushroom Burrata. For mains I had the surf & turf and my wife the cod, and to finish we enjoyed the pastries. All local produce, well presented and very tasteful.

9/10Wonderful service and cozy, classy ambiance. Our table had the fillet steak and shrimp, the vegetarian lasagna, and the black pork cheeks. The food was excellent, but portion size of the pork was small. Though the wine pairings were good, it was better last year when we had the male server (he may have been the owner or manager). 10/10The restaurant is great, we had a few tapas bits to start with that were amazing and then the main courses were fabulous, the cod is 10/10. The wine and desert wine tasting was also great, the owner had a great knowledge of wine and spoke English incredibly well

10/10Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food, drinks, service, and lighting make the place a must-visit in Sintra. Alex recommended excellent pairings based on our taste and dishes. We both shared 2 bruschetta dishes. The locally sourced mushrooms were divine. The goats cheese was also tasty. We both had octopus for main. Extremely tender and it worked well with a delectable local sweet potato mash. The dessert was next-level. The tiramisu nata was unbelievably good. We'll be going back for sure to sample more of the menu. A perfect Saturday evening.

10/10Sabores do Mercado is a Portuguese restaurant with a modern twist. According to the owner come all the Incredients from local farmers and suppliers. The menue has regional and seasonal specials. Our food was excellent and very tasty. We enjoyed the champagne and mushroom bruschettas with the matching wines as starters. As main we can recommend the cot fish which was cooked to perfection on a spinach and breadcrumbs base. We will definitely go back on our next visit in Sintra.
