8.5/10We were disappointed in the Milanese. They pound it too thin and it therefore has a lot of breading. Much better in the US. However, the service was great and so was the sea bass

10/10During a busy 1st August evening meal on the terrace, the staff, especially the maître d', remained friendly, attentive and good-humoured, despite working through a torrential thunderstorm and dealing with a difficult customer. I've always been happy with the food, making this my must-go-to lunch venue on arrival in Montreux, and the setting on the lake is lovely.

8.5/10The service with the maître was great, but the. the lady that serve us after that was very impatiens and not kind at all. The food is ok, but not wow for the price we payed, as a lot of dishes were with rice as a side dish. The terrace is lovely.

I book in advanced and asked for a Closer bien of the lake but as we arrived it seems despite tune anticipated réservation nothing Was prepared as the Walter Was looking for an available table! Plates between forêt course and main course are very long to wait for! A pity

10/10We are a 'senior citizen' couple, and the occasion to visit this restaurant was my wife's birthday. We arrived a little early before our appointment, but we were warmly welcomed by the restaurant manager, given a choice of which table to sit, and lo and behold, we sat just as the sun was setting over the 'glowing' lake on a near perfect spring evening in Montreux, after the rains. They allowed us to relax and presented us with the menu, which offered great choices for our 'healthy' diet lifestyle. My wife choice fish and I chicken, and of course, a healthy quantity of fine local red wine. We delighted in the red wine for the first 20 minutes (with excellent freshly baked bread and special butter and a vegan spread), before our main course arrived. It was cooked perfectly, and the pommes frites (which I had also changed to, even though my original accompaniment was going to be 'blé' or likely some cereal) was just 'something to die for'. Later, we decided to indulge ourselves with some dessert, and we ordered chocolate mouse for myself and chocolate pudding for my wife. Some 15 minutes, we suddenly 'saw' the lights switched off, and the staff came round to our table singing happy birthday lovingly to my wife, and presented the dessert with a bright 'fire' sprouting away. We were surprised at this 'celebration', and appreciated very much the special warmth, friendliness and kindness of the staff at this gesture. More red wine was ordered, yes, it was an extraordinary indulgence for us, but the decor, quality of food and wine, the reception, staff treatment of us and our own joy in being there all made it necessary to 'indulge'. It was a most memorable evening that we will always recall with fondness, and I wish to thank all the staff at the Safran for the very natural way they helped us make this special evening truly extra specially memorable. All the very best to Safran and Eurotel and of course, glorious Montreux, it is a 'package' from the heavens!

10/10We had a lovely dinner of venison specials. The food was delicious, the wine selections outstanding, and the service was impeccable. So close to the Montreux train station, we were able to stroll along the boulevard to walk off our indulgent meal. We will be returning soon!

7.5/10Nice venue, but terrible communication with the manager as the table was the only one withing the restaurant with a sun directly in your eyes - not even being able to read the menu. And despite several request to move with empty tables they didn't attempt anything (even though they said they would). A very unpleasant experience

6.5/10We were waiting for 2 friends still to come and we were told at 20:40:"the kitchen close at 21". Then we had a the fork discount at 50% for 4 people on 7 so they brought 2 separate notes: but they gave us the note of another table AND ours. For 270 chf more! Happy that I checked ....

6.5/10Well, it was my big round birthday. I wanted to make it special and took my parents. First, they found our reservation, then they came twice to ask what name we reserved on. Service was slow. Food was late. Fillet the perche was oily. All in all, disappointing… (The view was nice, at least that!) But honestly NOTHING special.

9/10Great location and view so we often go there when we have guests. The menu is good though limited choice if you are a vegetarian. Good choice of desserts. For those who want to have a cocktail before their meal there is the Purple Fish bar on the premises too. Friendly staff who try their best to serve promptly what appears to be always a busy restuarant.

5/10Pleasant welcome was an excellent beginning but then I got overcooked and sticky linguini, marking the bottom of pasta quality I’ve ever had. Much overpriced for the quality.

10/10Safran is an excellent restaurant to go to whether for family dinners or couples. We dined with the family, including 2 young kids, and each and every one of us was welcomed warmly and accordingly... I especially appreciate the "welcome back" note to us and the special attention to our children. The staff are excellent also and always out for to please us and meet our requirements. Definitely going back and soon!
