5/10Did not ask if it the food was ok or if we needed anything. Did not check if we needed to more to drink. The tapas was not so tastefull but it was beautifule "decoratet" on the plate

3.5/10Waited two and a half hours and still didn’t get my food. The rest of the 8 got theirs all at different times. Waited at least 20 mins before getting a drink and an hour to get the two starters. Shocking

4/10Octopus was impossible to chew. Fish soup which used to be lovely, was awful tomato soup with tasteless fish and seafood in it. Couldn't find squids in fried baby squids dish. Awful! That's a shame as it used to be a lovely restaurant before!

10/10Really loved this restaurant. The staff were so lovely. The menu has a great choice of food and wine. Loved the carbonara, they cooked it perfectly. It arrived in a frying pan, which was certainly different but it worked. One last thing to add, I liked the fact they left the Parmesan cheese for you to keep helping yourself to. I would highly recommend this restaurant

6/10To be fair this was not our first visit to the restaurant. We decided to give it another visit after last time which was a little underwhelming. As last time we visited, the lady “Maitre d” was very good, but when she disappeared it was not so good, again. I feel the food is average at best, and for what you are paying I would expect both better food and snappier service. The best part of this restaurant is undoubtedly the view, which is fantastic. I do not mind paying more for quality, but also expect good value for money, the extra “veg” which consisted of sliced pepper, courgette and something else was €12, extremely overpriced. All in all, this restaurant could be way way better if attention to detail was more prevalent. Don’t get me wrong, the place is ok, but two visits, months apart, same result, ok is about it, will think long and hard before going again

3/10First of all I would like to apologise to all the people who gave Sal Negra a poor rating for ignoring their comments thinking I knew better. I’ve ate here many times but last night was nothing short of disgusting. We ordered the 72 euro shellfish platter. The lobster was over cooked so much so that the flesh was stuck to the shell. Prawns not great, however, scallops were over cooked and stone cold. I asked the waiter how it was possible for them to be over cooked and cold given the meal arrived within ten minutes of ordering (shrugged shoulders being the reply) Obviously they had been cooked earlier in the day and they had been covered with oil to try and keep them edible, so much so that there was a pool of olive oil in the shell. We left half the meal and the restaurant after forty five minutes. I wasn’t so much bothered about the 115euro bill, my concern was whether we were about to get food poisoning. Never again Sal Negra, tidy up your act as well as the restaurant itself

9/10Lovely restaurant with great sea views and the food is excellent. We had the sea bass,and,although we had to wait a while for it to be cooked,it was worth the wait.Super fresh and cooked perfectly. We have been to this restaurant a few times as it’s one of the few restaurants that has an authentic feel to it.We will definitely be returning.

6/10The service and the ambience were very good so we expected great things but the food we had did not deserve the acclaim of being in the top ten restaurants in the area. The scallop starter was ONE scallop and it was like warm. The paella had four tiny cockles, 4 very small mussels, 4 small, luke warm prawns and a mountain of rice with bits of unidentifiable fish. My friends fried fish mixture was fish tasting meat in batter, again, difficult to identify and not very good. She too got one scallop as a starter but au gratin. The ice cream was good.

8/10Lovely vibe with the dj and great view from front line tables. Garlic prawn starter was absolutely delicious! Restaurant was very busy and staff were working very hard to meet demand. Mains not quite as good as starter but still tasty. Will definitely return.

5.5/10Not a good welcome or greeting on arriving and after been showed to our seats we had to wait a while for our drinks and then this was only brought for one of us. The food is average and prices at least average. We felt the staff need further customer friendly training and we would have given a better review so there is room for improvement.

+2We have been coming to Sal negra for years when we visit tenerife and has always been our favourite restaurant, the food and atmosphere is fabulous. Unfortunately this time we encountered some raw chicken which we didn’t realise until we had already eaten quite a lot (with myself being pregnant and also my uncle has a stomach condition, we were both very concerned by this and had to make ourselves sick) - we very kindly and discreetly mentioned it to the waitress who didn’t apologise or come back to the table and it wasn’t mentioned again for the rest of the meal by any staff. We aren’t ones to cause a fuss but thought it could have possibly been dealt with a little better. The rest of the food I could not fault and thought it was absolutely delicious as per usual, just a small incident with the chicken!
