As a Brit living in Milan it was great to find a place that does what we call a fry up. The food was great, the place is nice and clearly popular as it was full. I saw other dishes and they all looked great too. The fresh grapefruit juice was excellent too

Dear Anthony, thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted you enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and our “fry up” — it’s always a pleasure to hear positive feedback from someone who knows it well! We hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards.

Really good quality food but unfortunately all a bit too salty - would go again and ask to add less salt :)

Restaurant is consistently good. Have been many times now and all menu items have impressed, especially the ribeye steak cooked to your liking. The burger is overcooked but nice depending on how you like it. Wide selection of wines and brewdog IPA is a bonus. Never very busy when I’m there - which is a surprise and a shame, perhaps because of its slightly above market pricing

The menu was very original and there were dishes you don't find everywhere. The quality was exceptional.

I don't know why there were so few people on Saturday evening. The food is delicious, the pricing fair... We had mostly seafood dishes: scallops with bacon, crunchy octopuss, perfectly made, and the calamari + shrimps. The beef tartare was the weakest point of our meal. The desserts were great too: mini pavlova and brownie. We really enjoyed it. It is a little far from touristic attractions, but worth the detour.

Steven and his wife have made this restaurant into a fine dining experience - tones of Scotland mixed with traditional Italian! Sunday brunch not to be missed!’

The customer service was very good. We were in 5 and ordered the salt burgers and Full breakfast which were delicious. We also got dessert my waffles were delicious, pancakes were a little too hard & tasted like they were frozen and my friends ended up leaving them & the others got the pavlova which was a little too chewy. We will return for the mail course but may leave the dessert next time.

Christmas Eve dinner, the choice of food was exquisite, the taste, the presentation, everything about the food was of the highest quality. However I ordered two bottles of Brewdog beer which was either old or kept under bad conditions, because the beer was a bit oxidized. Apart from the food, the service was kind of acceptable during dinner, we were offered a nice wine that went well with the food. Unfortunately the second we finished the Last meal which was a dessert, we became invisible to the staff. Zero attention, no question of we wanted a coffee or another bottle of wine, nothing, as if we were ghosted and unwanted there anymore. So that attitude definitely left a bit of distate after otherwise very enjoyable dinner.

Salt food never disappoints, beautiful food in a comfortable, friendly setting . I’ve probably had almost every dish on the menu. It’s definitely a struggle which one to actually order. Personal favourites are . Eggs Benedict, the full Scottish (Irish), the burger, and if you are in the mood the ribeye… also a delicious side the halloumi fries.????????????top class always

The food and wine were both excellent. This was my second time there, and it didn't let me down. We had seared scallops and braised sausage for our starters, tortelloni with black truffle and jus and a kind of almost-pasta alla norma with burratina for our primi, and a perfectly cooked fillet for our main. The Terra di Monteverro Tuscan IGT was really good and a total steal at less than €40.

Everyone’s always super nice and food’s really good. Really recommend all the primi (except for the risotto cause i haven’t tried it) and for the secondo i really recommend the scottish beef which is spectacular!!

The food is okay and the cocktails are a bit on the stale side. It’s a one time try place at best.

This restaurant is definitely worth unearthing to find the salt of the earth. It has a nice ambience and the selection of food is good, not too expansive but certainly enough for everyone's tastes. The quality of good is excellent and reasonably priced for Milan and the quantity was just right. The best accolade I can give it - is that we intend to return in the not too distant future!

We visited Salt on a weekend away with some friends after reading some good reviews and keen to head to an area of the town a little away from the tourist hot spots. We were intrigued to see what menu a restaurant fronted by a Scottish chef in Milan would be offering and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful front of house where a concise menu was offered which manages to offer something for everybody. What we were offered was a complete fusion of everything from south american influenced cerviche, through to local Italian pasta dishes and British influenced steak and chips. Don’t picture standard fare plates of food here - think dishes presented with flare and gusto, packed with flavour and priced keenly to keep people returning for more. That combined with a relaxed service, slick interior and ambience plus the personal touch of having the opportunity to meet Steven, the head chef to get the back drop on his journey to opening this restaurant, left us feeling nourished in more ways than one. We couldn’t have hoped for a better way to spend our last evening away with our close friends. When we are next back in Milan we will 100% be back for sure and hope to see Salt going from strength to strength. Spread the word.

This restaurant has been a nice surprise. The atmosphere was chill and the service was impeccable. Compliments to the chef and the crew because beef tartar was simply delicious and tasty as well as sorbetto and cheesecake. I wish I were able to go back on a daily bases. #ciaone

A real treat and something a bit different for Milan. The decor is modern and clean with a great relaxed atmosphere (we ate midweek so understandably quieter than a weekend). We would describe the menu almost like a high end gastro pub but with classic Italian ingredients and influences. A real breath of fresh air compared with other restaurants in the area. We tried the scallops (capasante), smoked salmon and chateaubriand (wow!) which were all super tasty, with stunning textures and well seasoned. The steak was like butter! We will definitely be visiting again
