Charming, authentic restaurant in a perfect location. The grilled sea bass was the best I have ever had. Not trendy but excellent food, good service and reasonable prices.

The atmosphere is so-so and the food …nothing special. We were taken aback when the bill came! They charged us for bread that was brought to our table, when we did not ask for it. They even charged us for water! We thought that a salad was included with my son’s dinner…they charged us separately! And it wasn’t a salad…it was some sliced tomato with a very little bit of greens on top. I would never eat there again!
Santa Marta MarisqueiraMarg, You are the kind of people who no restaurant needs... Water is free, bread is free, salad is free..... In your perfect world workers would work for free and people would be free of paying taxes. Not only here, but in Portugal in general all this items are paid. Since main course dishes start in 10,00€ all this itens are charged when consumed and order, and i am sure your ordered them. I can believe that in your country all that may even be free, but for sure never in a 10-15€ main course That is why i think people travel, to see different things and different ways of action. Dont know what your son´s had, neigther what you have thougth, but salad is never included since most dishes already have one or even two side dishes. Saying that there was only " some sliced tomato and a very little bit of greens on top "is just a lie, for you to try to make this review leveled with your point of view. But still a lie. Still, wish you al the best

Traditional Portugese restauarnt. The staff are very friendly but it was a bit pricy. Worth a try but wont' go back.

Great experience. Neighborhood Portuguese restaurant, tiled walls, simple tables, adequate menu. Server was excellent. I would go back.

Cute little restaurant apparently frequented by bus tours. We ordered grouper and salmon for our main course. The food was terribly over salted. Even my husband who uses a lot of salt found it way too salty. I do not know if you can order food without salt, but I would certainly try to do so.

The restaurant was like a canteen for tourists. We were rushed through and it was not a pleasant relaxing experience. Our table was right next to the waiter area, constantly being jostled but no other tables available. Food was ok but not exceptional. Very disappointed as this was a place recommended to us.

I was hoping for some hot grilled fresh sardines and was disappointed that I could only get cold ones in oil. The clams were delicious and the prawn pasta was good.
Santa Marta MarisqueiraSally I am very desapointed with your review. How can a restaurant be reviewed based on a expectation of having grilled sardines ? Cant get fresh sardines everyday, and we just wont serve frozen sardines as many restaurants do. Menu is very clear, we only get sardines as a starter, for 6.00€, descrived as baby sardines in olive oil. Grilled sardines we do have it but occassionally., and never as as starters and never for 6.00€.. If it were so important for you, we could have gotten it on the next day. Your review was not fair to the avaluation 8\10 service you gave, so please reconsider it.

Food, service and ambience were all exceptional…especially our waiters and the seafood stew. Definitely a local favorite and now that we’ve been there, we understand why.

Cute Little local place. Very charming staff. Traditional Portuguese restaurant selections. However, the best white sangrias I’ve ever had and the whole group agreed. We would go back just for the sangrias!

My hotel recommended this restaurant and I saw it was highly rated. Went there for the fish and seafood and those were excellent- I had octopus salad to start and a very generous grilled cod portion as a main. Dessert was cheesecake, just right, and the espresso was perfect. So I returned tonight and had cod cakes to start followed by simply grilled sardines. Ended the meal with a bowl of delicious fresh cherries. The staff remembered me and made me feel very welcome. A simple neighborhood spot, with delicious food and wonderful service. Highly recommended.
