10/10We had the Germinat tasting menu. High standard on all dishes. Accompanied by a variety of delicate Spanish wines. The service was excellent. Explaining all dishes in fluent english!

9.5/10This place is almost Michelin-star worthy, but not really. Food was generally quite good, but two of the seven courses were disappointing: they lacked flavour and could probably improve simply by adding a pinch of salt. The place is understaffed and service suffers from it. Just one more waiter would make a big difference.

8.5/10We enjoyed Sao BCN very much. Our only complaint was that they sat us at a table directly outside of the kitchen which was a distraction because the wait staff was coming and going all evening. The restaurant itself wasn’t very crowded so it was a bit odd that we were given that table.

9.5/10Great food, very balanced, order of the dishes was very good. We got a smaller tasting menu and we were very full at the end of the meal. The cucumber and apple predessert was the best. Incredible wine paring, mostly Spanish wines, most of them from Catalonia. Only thing that can be corrected are decorations and general vibe of the place was a little bit from 30 years ago but not in a good way.

10/10Absolutely incredible experience. Impeccable service and food. Blown away. Their lunch offer is unbeatable in both price and quality. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. We felt very welcome. A real highlight of our trip to Barcelona.

9.5/10The lunch we had in this restaurant was one of the best of the last years! The taste, the presentation and the complexity of every dish almost shocked us with high intensity and truly balanced recipes. As soon as we can we'll come back! Best ratio quality/price!

8.5/10We spent 2 weeks travelling all across Portugal and Spain eating at many Michelin star restaurants and Saó BCN was our favorite food of all of them, on par with some of our favorite restaurants from the top 50 restaurants across the globe. We had the "Arrels" tasting menu and wine pairing. We were stunned immediately by just the first few dishes and the remainder of the menu continued to delight; every dish was beautifully crafted flavor and texture combinations, presented without the pretentiousness we found at some other places that will remain nameless! The most incredible thing perhaps is the price, I would happily have paid 4 or 5 times as much for such a quality tasting menu and pairing, perhaps the ambience and service dont match what you find at a similar world class restaurant, but again at such a price point you cannot have any complaints. I cannot recommend this chef highly enough! A must visit for any food lover.

4/10The food was pretty good. The server however, seemed frenetic, rushing around the room and then speeding through the explanation of each course, making it difficult to know what we were eating. She also didn't seem to have a working knowledge of the wine list. The atmosphere in general was not what we expected, with very sparse and unattractive furniture and decor. We decided it looked like a hotel breakfast restaurant. At the end of our meal, we requested our check. She acknowledged us, then just disappeared. We waited another 25 minutes or so before finally getting the attention of another server who brought our check. And strangely, included in the box with the check was a printed out menu in English of each course and their ingredients. It would have been great to have this with the meal, instead of at the end. I'm not sure the purpose of that. We were having trouble getting an Uber to come to the restaurant and asked someone at the desk if they would call a taxi. They declined to do so, saying they didn't have anyone to call. Overall, a fairly disappointing experience.

8/10The lunch was amazing. We did the mid-tier course with wine pairing and were not disappointed by any of the courses. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, although sometimes we did have to wait quite a bit between courses, particularly toward the end. Still, highly recommend.

7.5/10+1The food was excellent and really well presented. However, the wine pairing was disappointing. Furthermore, the service was too fast, once done with your plate they just take it without looking if the people you are eating with are done too. The service staff was really nice.

7/10Food was well prepared. However, a printed menu would be helpful to know what is on the menu that day rather than every dish 'a surprise.' While the service was efficient, the enjoyment of dining is not simply eating well prepared food but it should be an experience. There was no attempt at engagement by staff leaving us feeling underwhelmed.

8.5/10+11Great food and value for money. Exceptional wine pairing. The waiters were all friendly and explained things clearly. They could however pay more attention to small details. E.g. take away empty plates asap, place dishes at the center in front of the customer etc. These subtle things make a huge difference. Overall, really great restaurant and I certainly look forward to coming back.

5.5/10+3Every dish looked pretty but tasted less than perfect. The chef seems to like a lot of flavor blends, and there's nothing special about tasting each ingredient individually, but it's a little surprising to eat them mixed together. But some dishes taste too strong, and some dishes have no taste at all. The service was prompt, not bad. But as a Michelin recommendation, the food was a disappointment.

8/10Amazing quality but it took 2 over hours, when i left i felt happy but also a bit tired. Service by young people is nice and fresh but better training needed. I mean, they were doing them job but out of the box zero value, maybe millenium deseas, not sure. Will be back to try more chef experiments, those were above expectations

6/10the restaurant is really remote. The food was a little disappointing, they are a gastronomic restaurant, beautiful dishes but often lacking taste, a few dishes were quite boring, like the codfish with 'spicy sauce' it was nothing spicy... we were wondering if they served the wrong sauce. The deserts were outstanding. We drunk an amazing cava here, which was a nice discovery. Price is very moderate, for a gastronomic restaurant. We ordered a taxi after dinner, it never came... they offered no solution. we were just waiting there for over an hour for the taxi that they ordered to show up. We asked to call another taxi company, they refused, as they only work with 1 company. This really upset us, it was really late after midnight, we had been up since early morning and they offered no solution, nor a drink while waiting. eventually we just walked to the metro and got back to the hotel, but we were gobsmacked by the lack of service!!

10/10Incredibly delicious tasting menu full of fresh ingredients & unique local products. Attentive, friendly service & all for a very reasonable price. Definitely worth the metro trip, as it's slightly outside the city center.
