We had originally booked a table for 1:30pm however on the day before we got an email advising the booking had been moved to an hour earlier which was quite annoying. The food was very tasty however the New Year Day menu was quite pricey when compared with the normal menu. Staff was ver friendly but the place was a bit crammed.

This feels like a long established family restaurant. It was like eating at a friend’s house. They serve wonderful marinated veggies and ham when you arrive. We had the classic fish soup, which was very good. The staff were friendly and attentive.

We were so disappointed, because we were really looking forward to the visit to the restaurant. First we had a soup, that was okay, except for the overcooked small chifferi regaling pasta, that they had put in the fish soup. Then two of us had our food, but the other two got their food after we had finished ours. None of the food was really bad, but neither was it good.

A first time visit based on recommendation in the Michelin guide. The menu is intriguing but does require some explaining by the waiters who speak very poorly English. However, the magic happens when the food arrives at the table. Great dining experience. Split of locals vs tourists 70/30 so it’s a popular place with the Lisbonners.

Chef’s salad looks and tastes like from a can; wild mushrooms are regular supermarket ones; lobster inside the pastry is too chewy to chew; mild boar has no flavor but has a smell, left most untouched.

Overrated place. Expensive for what it offers. Firstly the service is terrible, they brought us Portuguese menu knowing we were talking in English to them. They showed no desire to assist when we were obviously struggling, to suggest a dish or a wine. in general they did the bare minimum. The food was mediocre at it's best, the grouper fish had no imagination, just 4 little pieces on chips. the steak was hard and the mushroom risotto that came with it didn't look like it was just made made, it was hard and chewy and not creamy. I bet it was re-heated. the veal steak with the marmalade was very nice but the spinach sauce that came with it was one of the worst food I've ever eaten. their house red wine is lovely and so the deserts we had (creme Lisboa and orange cake). when asked for the bill we were charged 80€ more and when we said so they just erased the bill and wrote a new figure. they didn't even apologize. wouldn't recommend!

Excellent food and service. Always a positive surprise. We never get to see the desert menu as the entrees and food are so amazing and well served, that when we finish there is no more room even for the coffee. The variety of wines deserve also 5 stars.

As many have said, forcing people to pay by cash is absurd. I wandered around for 15 minutes looking for an ATM. They finally said they could run my card. Disgraceful and blatantly dishonest

This is a one of kind dining experience. The table is set with an array of appetizers on your arrival. The kitchen makes every main course plate with skill and precision. The staff are impeccable in their attention and good humor.

What a FANTASTIC restaurant - the food was exceptional (particularly the black pork), the service superb, and it was such a memorable night. We're looking forward to returning!

One of our worse dining experiences. This is a local restaurant and we were the second group to arrive. Two hours later the restaurant was full with meals served and some patrons leaving. We were still waiting for our food. We called over the manager who ignored us. It was after 10 pm so left without a meal. We were then asked to pay in cash, when we know credit cards were in use, and pay for the appetized that were on the table when we arrived, with no explanation if they were a separate charge. We tried hard to communicate and we were treated like unwelcome foreigners.

The price markup on the wines (x4 Euros) is totally unacceptable. We will not return and we will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We will definitely come back . Although the service was a bit slow it was good . Nice atmosphere lots of people who seem to come back . Not touristy 😀

We were very impressed with the quality of the food, the attentive service and vibrant atmosphere. Try the “arroz de lavagante” (Rice with Lobster) and the Fish Soup. Plus the wine selection is extensive.

So… We had a reservation for 4 person at 20:30. We arrived at 21:00, and their was no more table for us, but the waiter told us to wait a bit it will be fast. We waited 1:30 hours. It was not a problem because they offered us some appetiser to wait, but each time we asked it was 5 more minutes until that we wait 1:30 hours. Ok. Not a bid deal. We can see that the restaurant is full and we was late and they offered us something to wait. After we are installed at the table with some ham, cheese, grilled vegetables, and bread. We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine that was good. Then we ordered 4 fish soups, which is one of the famous dishes of the house… it was a tomato soup with shrimp and cod bar… the bouillon was ok. Hopefully we had a bottle of white wine that was very nice for the price. And we finished by a dessert, sweet rice, with too much cinnamon on it. In the end, it’s time to pay and they start to ask us to pay for things that was offered or things that we didn’t ask for and which they brought without doing any comments. The son of the owner was told us that it was written in little at the bottom of the menu, like in a bank contract that “all the appetiser have to be paid”. And it’s like that in Portugal. Ok, maybe. But when you see a table of four french people, told them… and even more when you start by offering some stuff to stay. How do you want us to know what is offered and what is not. And it is absolutely not correct to ask after for us to pay for something that we never asked for. So, the team was nice (before the end), the food was good but that’s it, and the service was very long. With additionally, unjustified prices, it was really not a good experience for us.

A great find and although there were other tourists dining there it was a relief to see it was mostly locals. The food was delicious prepared beautifully - a wonderful wine list and impeccable service. Would go again and again ….

The experience at Solar dos Nunes was extraordinary! The appetizers were amazing and the lobster and shrimp rice was espectacular. The dessert was out of this world too! A true and authentic Portuguese experience that everyone should be able to have. The service was also amazing! I enjoyed this restaurant and will be back next time I'm in town!

Absolutelty charming. Our waiter was extremely friendly and service minded. He explained that we should select from the appetizers on the table, he would remove those we didn't prefer. A brazen waiter had sold them all to us (and there would have been no room left for mains). Large servings. An amazing experience with typical Portugese fair. Can't wait to return on our next visit to Lisbon.
